Why does my brother act this way?

My older brother has this "garden"
I wouldn't really call it a garden,because he doesn't take care of it and has trash and toys inside it.
3 weeks ago my brother went berserk and tryed to hit me because he thinks im the cause for his garden dieing. wtf!
he's the one who kills the plants on purpose. I actually seen him pull the plants out of the ground before they were ready and stomp on them. and accuses me for killing his garden.then lastnight his girlfriend didn't answer his phone calls and he automatically thinks i made her mad at him by telling lies! I don't understand..yes I hate his skank girlfriend 'cause I seen her making out with some other dude..and i won't dare tell my brother because he'll flip out and try to kill me..literally
I tryed talking to my mom about this but she doesn't believe me. she thinks my bro is the most respectable person in the world. he even treats her the same way he does me! is this normal?

    umm... No, it sounds like you have a psyco on your hands.. And an enabler. He might need some help, maybe he has schizophrenia. I'm no doctor, but that sounds right on the money, your mom probably doesn't want to admit this, or she is afraid of what will happen, but he NEEDS to have this looked at before he hurts someone, or himself.
