Why does hardly anyone ring these days? its almost always by txt

I'm wanting to know how may of you still give a friend a phone call ? The only phone calls I get are either work related or from family. It saddens me that I don't have any good friends who like to ring every so often. I sometimes have rung them but after a while its pointless when I'm the one always initiating contact. Its mainly messenger or text. I think people will call each other when in a relationship but again I don't think its common...is it normal and why?

I never call my friends but I do call my partner 3

    My favorite is when someone texts "call me"

    Mother fucker just call me. Don't text it.

    Texting something like "outside now" when she's expecting you to pick her up or what ever is fine. However there's a lot, especially chick's that over do it with the texting. I may take an hour to respond but others will drop what there doing to respond. Fuck that. If it's important then call.

    Texting is an easy way to keep in touch when you don't have time to. Just a quick "hi" and you did your duty, and you're on your way to something else. It's cheap to do and it's quiet and private. No long distance phone fees, and you can do it anywhere.

    Nowadays hardly anyone calls for a long chat or even just to keep in touch. If I call a family member they assume there must be some major problem. Communication these days has gone to shit.

    Blame it on sms and facebook etc.
