Why do women wear yoga pants?

This question is just for women.

It's seems more and more women wear yoga pants around everywhere, and I was curious if its because they're so comfortable of if it's because they want to show off their ass.

only for comfort 30
mostly for comfort but partly to show off my ass 23
equally to show off and for comfort 12
mainly to show off my ass but also for comfort 12
just to show off my sexy ass 13
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

They are just being prepared in case they have to do an emergency yoga move.

I remember when "leggings" (as we call them here in The UK) first became popular back in 2007ish, women were wearing the 3/4 length ones with miniskirts or sometimes hot pants over them, and that looked really cute. That's actually how they're supposed to be worn as everyday wear (outside the gym).

It was only later on they ditched the skirts and shorts and went basically semi-nude in public. I think it looks silly at best (even if you have a nice body to pull it off). But most of the time, it's just unsightly seeing your big obese rippling bare ass cheeks (complete with lacy thong) stretching the tight fabric to it's limits. It doesn't look good.

I went to a Catholic school, and when we were in Sixth Form we could wear our own clothes instead of uniform. Leggings without an overlayer had become such a fad by that point that the teachers actually warned the girls to "cover up or wear uniform".

Because going bottomless is illegal in many places.

We need to run a poll asking why so many people are always so obsessed with what women wear, whether they should or not, and why they wear it.

Strictly comfort, I don't think I have a nice ass and I'm definitely not trying to showcase it.

"because they're so comfortable or if it's because they want to show off their ass"

    Yes.

And they are great for physical activity since thats what they were designed for.

Personally, I don't wear yoga pants in public. However, yeah, it's comfortable, but it's mainly for attention.

I'm going to be realistic. Most women may say they hate when guys stare or flirt, but when they don't, some women tend to think something is wrong. Maybe I'm too fat. My butt is not big enough. I have small boobs. The list goes on. Yoga pants is a nice way to show off what you have, be a real head turner for a day, and remain comfortable. I see girls at my job wear it with their uniform, even though it's against dress code and been warned several times to stop. I see women dress business casual in heels with yoga pants when all they do is sit in an office all day. I see yoga pants girls flooding the mall, color coordinated their outfit to match their rainbow or solid colored yoga pants. As ridiculous as it is to wear something you're suppose to exercise in as regular pants, it works. Guys notice, stare, and admire, which boost the confidence of some women by making them feel desirable, young, and more. Though we may say we hate the attention, being able to turn heads does feel nice every now or then.

In conclusion, guys... we're not stupid; we know our butts are showing.

The thing that most guys don't get is that there is a world of difference between taking a second glance at somebody or giving them a friendly smile and staring at them, or making comments, or following them.

The former is the good kind of attention. It might not the primary reason they wear them, for most women it's always going to be about the comfort, that's why they wear them even when they're not leaving the house, but it can be a nice bonus, and for the minority of women who do it primarily to seek attention, that's the kind of attention they want.

The latter, which, again, is completely different from the former, is the kind of attention women hate. It's not what they want, ever, it doesn't make them feel nice, ever, and, no, it's definitely not a compliment. Ever.

In other words, some attention is good and other attention is bad....so, yes, it's possible for women to both like and hate attention.

The difference in attention is obvious. Also, yeah, that's why I say just a head turn and nothing more; however, guys are going to do whatever.

No one can pick and choose the kind of interactions they will face in their day to day lives, but just try to go about it as best as we can.

They are comfy, but I generally don't wear them. I like my pants to have a pocket for my phone. I'm all about practicality :P

Unless they're actually doing yoga, they're being an attention seeking whore.

I wear leggings all the time. They're comfortable and thin so I don't suffocate like I would in jeans.

I knew a girl who started gaining a little bit of weight because she ate protein bars. She wore sweatpants on a day that was not sweatpant day.
