Why do some women wear very short skirts/shorts?

I think they dress like that to give them something else to b!tch about...srsly i hate it when they say, "lyk omg, it's soo effin cold!" or "can someone turn up the heat or somethin?" Shut up and put a jacket on or actually wear some clothes. I could understand if they live somewhere where it was consistantly warm/hot, but if you live in, say, Alaska where it is winter about 10 months out of the year, you should know better, and if you still dress that way, I and nobody else wants to hear you b!tch about the cold.

Some of "us" are just really "attractive" so we wear the clothes that "flatter" us. In my case, I have "fantastic" legs, so I'm a "fan" of dresses and "skirts".

Because they are picking up strangers on street corners.

There is nothing wrong with women in short skirts and shorts. It turns me on big time as I wonder whats beneath the skirt or shorts and the chance of getting a quick look when the lady bends over. BUT NO OVER WEIGHT WOMEN.

I wear hot shorts because I can. Period. I'm a woman and I'm going to show my lady lumps off - there are no pretences. I don't have to pretend or aspire to be something I'm not.

I didn't read all of that, I think you are looking too deeply into why women wear short skirts/shorts. As a woman, we have the right to wear whatever we please whether it be for fashion purposes, because it's something one feels comfortable wearing or because it's warm outside! Who cares.

I think it's to purposely make men drool over whatever the clothing (or lack of) shows off. Why? It can be a power trip, it can be to find a boyfriend, it can be used to get free stuff or get away with whatever. It's just women taking advantage of mens one-track mind for the most part. I do it!! I'm married and not looking but it's nice for the perks and it's a fun power trip!!

The worst thing about it though is when you get the random creep, but that can be solved by traveling in packs or faking a phone call or text from my husband!!

Thanks to all, I understand (...well, from a male viewpoint) some of your comments - self expression, individuality, sexiness, fashion, etc... :) One "thing" I do think about is men viewing women (who dress "less") is as a "sex object", and perhaps an "easy fcuk", I'm NOT making a judgement here about men nor women, perhaps the majority of men (?) have a lot more respect for women than "that", and that majority (?) women like to feel "sexy, looked at etc" - that is "you can look, but don't touch...".

Well, I'm not technically a female, but I'm a crossdressing male (who is a VERY passable female). I own a mini skirt for essentially, what I feel is, the same reason that women tend to own them: attention.

To go a bit more into that, I enjoy the potential humiliation of it; it's a rush for me when I'm dressed up in public for people to see. But I feel like the overall idea is the same, even though real women won't do it for humiliation, I would assume.

Yep, I admit it, my posts have been long and I've included tons of quotations... My posts have been long & "boring" - oops quotation... because I wanted to consider "all sides of the argument" - yep another quotation. Thankfully, 99% of posts are OK with my ramblings and quotation marks " ". Quotation marks are used for a reason....

I 100% agree wigsplitz. I think that there is a thin dividing line between a personal power trip with confidence, and arrogance (e.g. "bitching" at other women because of their clothes or physical features,etc and "leading a guy on & suddenly dropping him like a ton weight". Yep, some str8 men do tend to have a "one track" mind & they don't see beyond that... "Will you walk into my parlour - said the spider to the fly..." - lol!

A lot of women engage in conversation & are also fully able to see what is going on around them, I've often engaged their eyes as I'm doing the same, men don't tend to look around at what's happening.

A woman who does dress "sexy" in order to attract the attention of men, may enable her to reinforce her own self confidence (if needed), and to "cut to the chase" (attract men's immediate attention, and enables her to assess a man in terms of a potential boyfriend, husband, etc and perhaps as a potential Father of their children).
Biologically, perhaps men are "programmed" to have sex as often as possible, whereas, perhaps, a Woman is more interested in the "Quality" of a man (physical features, personality, IQ, sucess, etc).....
