Why do some girls take advantage of boys?

I'm a chick and single. I don't understand why some girls take advantages of boys, because they know that they're not gonna beat them up. Boys can't beat girls and what makes girls think they can beat boys? I've always wondered why I see boys beating up girls but now I know why. I kinda feel sorry for boys because they try so hard not to go to the extreme yet girls keep putting pressure on them. Then boys get blamed for it. Gals, don't be crying when you've got the Nike sign on your contour. Stop taking advantage of boys just because you think they can't hit you and don't moan when they do. Yeah I know it may not seem manly like to hit girls but it doesn't make you feminine to hit boys. It really doesn't make a difference.

Double standards.

If a woman is abused, everyone is ready to take the guy to jail. If a man is abused, he's considered a pussy, YET if he defends himself by fighting back he's still going to jail. There's no win in this situation for men other than just leaving all your shit and disappearing.

The sad fact is, men are raised to accept the crazy bullshit and abuse, because that's just women being women. No. Women can be abusive too, and no one should put up with it.

When I talk to male friends with an abusive girlfriend, they just see it as, "Oh... it's just her period. Women are just super emotional. I have to be more firm with her. She's stressed! Etc." As in it's normal to put up with this shit. Disgusting.

The only thing many of us can do is teach the next generation how to recognize the early warning signs of a shitty person, regardless of how attractive, and just leave.

  I hope we also teach the next generation of boys how to treat women. Not just not to assault them, beat them to the point of hospitalization, or murder them...but how to defend themselves when a woman gently smacks or pinches them instead of retaliating by putting them in a hospital or a grave.
  
  We also need to teach the next generation to stop being so entitled. Boys feels so entitled to women's bodies and attention that they think it's abusive to be denied that. They think crazy bullshit that women are allowed to stand up for themselves and say no. They think women are super emotional anytime they get angry or yell because they're treated poorly, again, because boys think they're entitled to do whatever they want.

    Those are abusive men who behave like that. Women are constantly taught how to avoid abusive men, stalkers, predators, and more from an early age, with sayings like, "If it seems too good to be true, it probably is," to use your keys as a weapon, and more.
    
    Men aren't taught those things. They're mostly taught that showing emotion is weak, being a man means being strong or some shit like that, not to hit women, etc.
    
    My issue is, I'm tired of GOOD (not abusive) men having to put up with bullshit. Women have shelters and more to help, while abused men have little to nothing.
    
    I jump from forum to forum reading and helping, and it pissed me off when one guy was so sad that his girlfriend of years refuses to show him any affection, berates him, and more because she thinks his penis is small. That's the same as a guy saying a girl's breast are small, and treats her like shit for.it. However, the advice given to him was truly horrible, from, "Get an enhancement," "you shouldn't date cause your baby dick," "you're not a real man," and many more. No one... NO ONE, told this guy to leave that abusive bitch, but made it seem like it's his job to please her and keep her happy, like a servant.
    
    Yeah, I get what you're saying, but as I said, women have a ton of help, it's just having the strength to leave the guy. If a woman refuses to leave her abusers, then isn't much those programs can do to help.

      Oh you poor poor abused and battered men with nowhere to go ...... if the need is so great to escape from all these abusive women, what's stopping you from doing what we women had to start doing in the 70's and setting up refuges for yourselves? Why don't you get together with other men and do exactly that if you believe it's such a huge problem?
      
      It's true women are taught a lot about stranger danger but too many still grow up in households where the father dominates the mother and abuses her and this becomes the norm.
      
      I hope you told the man in question to leave the nasty woman he was with, but you've come up with ONE example of a weak man putting up with verbal abuse: how does that balance against the stats on abuse and murder of women by male partners?
      
      Women's support programs can help women to realise there's an alternative to living in an abusive situation but they obviously can't do rescue operations, although I must admit when I worked in women's refuges back in Women's Liberation days we were sometimes tempted to do so and some women died because they just couldn't get themselves out in time or were conned by the man with apologies and promises of reform. Women and sometimes children are still living in fear and sometimes dying because in spite of the rhetoric governments still do not provide adequate funding for refuges and other support services.

        I respect what you're saying, but I just can neither be so one-sided, nor so angry toward men.
        
        I was abused in multiple ways by family and partners, even went to a women's shelter for a little bit. However, I'm not going to look at men and go, "well, you're bigger and stronger than women, you should be able to handle yourself from a little verbal abuse and a slap on the face," when we, women, who are known for getting abused and murdered by our partners should know how strong emotional and psychological abuse are and the hold it can have. It's not about how strong a man is physically, or what other men do to women around the world and in the past, it's about the individual. Everyone is different, and everyone can feel pain. Men aren't immune to emotional/psychological abuse, as well as physical and sexual abuse.

        How do you work out that I'm angry towards men in general? Not that it would be a crime if it were true, but it's not: all I was doing was pointing out facts and statistics and in fact in spite of surviving child sexual abuse, domestic violence and rape I do not hate all men.
        
        Men are in fact usually bigger and stronger than women and I refuse to believe they are innately unable to deal with verbal abuse from women without resorting to physical violence.
        
        Of course each individual situation is about the individuals involved, but that doesn't alter the fact that in a patriarchal society men have power over women, including physical power to the extent of life or death or permanent disability.
        
        No-one, including me, said men are immune to abuse but the facts speak for themselves: women are overwhelmingly more likely to experienced male violence than the reverse.

  While not denying some women physically abuse men, it's overwhelmingly more prevalent the other way around, including to the point of murder: more than one Australian woman a week is killed by a partner or former partner, and on the increase, but this very rarely happens in reverse.
  
  So crazy bullshit & abuse is just women being women? I suppose you also believe men assaulting and killing women is just men being men?
  
  Personally I'm sick and tired of the term "abuse" being used inappropriately: anyone who's actually been abused knows that it's more than crazy bullshit, nagging and whingeing, which is done by BOTH genders, by the way, not just women.
  
  Which men are raised to accept anything women dish out? Quite the opposite I would've thought, given some of the excuses men come up with for physically abusing or killing a partner or former partner, as in "I thought she was having an affair"; "My dinner wasn't ready when I wanted it"; "I was drunk /drugged & didn't know what I was doing"; "She said she was going to leave me" ....... need I go on?
  
  I still have hope that the next generation of women is learning to recognise the early warning signs of a violent man, regardless of how attractive, and not get involved with such a person in the first place.

    Are you serious? No, crazy bullshit =/= nagging. I'm talking about beatings, throwing items at you, breaking your shit, clawing your face, kicking you to the ground, calling you worthless +, and more; and sadly these are examples from my own experience with an abusive WOMAN, Ms. Ellenna. Yet, my experience does not make me favor men more, but see that we're not completely helpless as the world makes us out to be, and that were capable of violence as well. Basically, I see both warning signs in men and women.
    
    However, like I said in my previous reply, I refuse to be so one-sided. Though I know I can't change the world on a grand scale, I'm going to teach both my daughters AND my sons how to recognize abuse, because you're right, BOTH genders can be abusive (while was my point to begin with), and both roughly show the same warning signs. Both can be just as vicious, just as hurtful, and just as murderous.

      Women "just as murderous"? Oh, so more than 2 men a week in Australia are murdered by female partners or former partners? That must be why there's been such a need for men's refuges that men have set them up with hard won government support?
      
      I reckon we women are potentially as violent (and also as peaceloving) as men, it's just we haven't had thousands of years of practice with violence. I too have experienced violence at the hands of women, but I was always aware there wasn't much strength/size differential so it wasn't as frightening or damaging as violence from a male someone larger, stronger and more used to dealing out violence.

No, it's definitely not normal to worry more about the occasional woman smacking their boyfriend around without doing any harm than you worry about the epidemic of men hospitalizing and murdering women. Not normal at all.

And, no, it's definitely not normal to think that women who argue or stand up for themselves are antagonizing men into hitting them. That's extremely abnormal.
