Why do people think i'm younger?

I'm gonna be 22, but when I meet new people, they say I look like 16 and I don't get it. I am small, skinny girl, I have the same figure since I was like 14. But I wear make up (lot of foundation because I'm fucking pale), eyeliner, mascara etc. I have long curly brown hair, I wear glasses and most of the times I wear jeans, tshirt, sneakers/boots. I travel a lot by bus/train so I have to run all the time (can't do that in stilletos) and I find elegant clothes boring, I hate it when young ppl wear just grey, white, black and brown. I like colours (no I dont dress like a clown). My face is not that kiddy either, it's symetrical but I have contours and kinda wide cheekbones and an oval face...so why do people say "you are 21? Whaat? You look so young like 16" Do they think it's a compliment and they don't even mean it?

    It is not bad to look younger. When you be older you'll not seem as. This is a good thing

      It's not bad when you are 40 and people think you are 30 because you have a good figure and no wrinkles...but when you are around 20 and people say you look like a teenager, its a bit annoying...btw I dont get it...what should a 20 year old look like? How can you know if someone is 20, 22, 18 or 16? They all wear make up and dress the same...

        I guess these people looked younger even at 20. People just see how you look and compare how other people from other ages look I guess. But sometimes you just think the person doesn't look that old for that age so they say you look much younger, but they don't mean you just look like a teen, just not look like a 20 year old

      162 cm is not that short...there are shorter girls than me

    It's normal. I'm 27 and people mistake me for 17-22 sometimes. It can get annoying having to show my ID at the movies or when I want to buy lotto tickets. Other than that, It's pretty flattering when someone tells me I look younger or when someone younger flirts with me(even though I'm awkward as hell socially and have no idea how to deal with it. XD)

    maybe you could gain a lot of weight, fatter people always look older than their age.

      I can't gain weight, no matter how much I eat, I weight between 45-50 kg(I'm 162 cm tall)..my sister is 40 years old and she is like that too...

    Some people just look young. I've been told I look younger and I don't understand how, I look fucking old.
