Why do people romanticize some revolutions and not others?

I'm not for revolutions and I keep hearing people go on and on about how one is needed.

But I get why revolutions happened in the past and I agree with each one and each reason.

But some people think some revolutions were better then others example the American Revolution vs the Haitian revolution.

Both had reasons why they revolted but most will brush the Haitian revolution off and even say that they shouldn't have fought back because look at Haiti now.

These are just two examples there are plenty more.

What I mean is why is it that some people believe that some revolutions were ok while others were not?

People are just bias. 11

    • History is dependant on the lie agreed upon. If the Nazis had won I wonder how modern society would see Hitler. An earthly messiah maybe?

      • sounds about right he would be hailed as the one who finally ended the tyranny of the Jew and the eradicator of communists he would also be named a kind individual who freed the inferior groups from their cursed existence.

he would also be seen as a man who stood up to democracy which was beyond corrupt and had to go for it like capitalism was the tool of the Jew to keep the master race from its true fate.

Europe would be united under a proper regime one that keeps order and will do anything to keep it that way allies of the axis powers would still be allowed to have autonomy unless your Italy.

All that happened was that we found out how shit communism was, and Russia became a "democracy" (lol). One could also argue for the advancement in technology regarding space exploration (going to the moon), but it could likewise have been between dictatorships vs democracies rather than communism vs capitalism.

You fool yourself if you think russia is a democracy.

            • Russia is a democracy. No internet conspiracy stuff please. The communist spirit is not dead, but it most certainly is a democracy, which means that the majority of its members lead it through elected representatives, which is what happens there.

            Yea, do a little research.
' Carl marx ' was a jew that changed his name and brought that party to power.
Instead of just listening to the evening news.
Use the freedom and access we still have.
            Do a little research.
            Let that form your opinion.

            • Research it's common knowledge that Marx's was a Jew of German decent.

I know about the history of communism sounds nice on paper but is impossible to impose just ask every country that has tried it.

Like you said the information is out there most of it isn't a secret.

People have a fucked up view of the world. There's a growing trend for people to view things like this through the lense of racism even when it's not relevant, putting 2+2 together and making 5. There's a tendency to get information from dogshit sources like celebrity tweets or some BuzzFeed article or some similar bullshit, and then people base their opinions off that.

So if you start getting into the specifics of a revolution in another country you find very few people actually have the facts. But they'll still happily jump in and shout their ill informed opinions at you.

When you say revolution do you mean socialist revolution?
I would quote Frantz FAnon, " 'When we revolt it's not for a particular culture. We revolt simply because, for many reasons, we can no longer breathe'

    • revolutions in general.

each one has a reason for why it happened and in many cases its clear that it was going to happen.

good or bad people had their reasons for why they got pissed off.

What a neat question. My answer is that no two things are equal and revolutions are no exception. There's a gradient that goes like:

    Glorious (American Revolution)
    Awful but warranted (Haitian Revolution)
    Just plain awful (French Revolution)
