Why do some people always put two periods at the end of a sentence? It makes me feel like they're trying to put in an extra long pause after you read what they wrote.. But I'm not sure.. What is the reason?

Okay, I'm kidding. I generally use it where the end to the sentence is implied and I want people to think it through without me saying it. Which is a specific case called aposiopesis.
facebook girls use it a lot..it makes you seem like deep in thought......i don't really get it..
maybe that's the number of their gang that they are in like~ this...../\/\/\ or its a habit that some people have and they can't shake it off so they keep doing it.
