Why do mixed race people call themselves black?
I find it weird that people who have one white parent and one black parent call themselves black. Why is that? They're neither black nor white in my opinion. They're just mixed. They might as well call themselves white if we go by their mentality. Are they ashamed of the white part of their biological spectrum?
I know a girl who describes herself as black even though she's just a quarter black considering the fact that her father is white and her mother is mixed (black and white).
I also noticed this is uncharacteristic for people who are half black/half Asian. These people do not call themselves black usually. Only people who are half black half white do this.
What's up with that? Do these people think it's so uncool to be white?
