Why do i love my friend only when she is dating someone else??

So me and my friend were together a couple times before. But when we are together we feel nothing for each other. We recently broke up (again) and now all of the sudden those feelings are back, and strong. She says the same thing. Is this fucking normal??

    You only want what you cant have because your ego tells you that you are better then the other guy/girl (whoever is dating your ex at the time) ;)
    It's not you, its just your ego. It will pass over time, just try to be happy for her/him because you know that your not the right person for them.

    There's several possibilities...

    1) You may be wanting what you can't have.

    2) Also... it's a "safe" desire. You know you can't have her so... you can't get hurt.
