Why do gay men act like this?

Ok first off I want to apologize because I don't mean to offend anyone, I support gay pride. I just don't know how to word this correctly.

Now I have some gay friends and they do NOT all act this way but why do most gay men find it they have to go out of their way to act a certain way? They talk very high pitch, and just are over the top attention seeking, loud, and overly sexual. It's like they try to act very over the top girly. For instance my friend invited some of his gay friends over and they were just annoying to say the least. They would talk over each other, dance very sexual, start screaming and trying to act "female." But it's not even female it's like a sexist female. They would act a certain way and be like "sorry its my time of the month" Like really? They're asking me all these feminine questions like what bra size are you as if them being gay makes that an ok question to ask. They said and did a bunch of other things as well but I find it very offensive as a girl. Idc if you're gay, you're still a guy. I would also like to mention they're not transgender, they had a big discussion on becoming trans and their reply was "hell no vagina's are gross."
Is it normal to be upset and bothered how they act?

I forgot where I read or heard this, so I will paraphrase; if I know your sexual orientation or religion within 30 seconds of meeting you, you're probably annoying.

This is not just a gay thing. There are straight versions of this too. Think of an overly jock-ish individual that can't speak without mentioning the fucking of bitches, how manly particular hobbies are or how he is an alpha male.

There are annoying fringes of all ways of life. Gay people are not immune to this. There are always people that take an idea too far and murder the idea for everyone else. Think of every religion, philosophy, political party, and sexuality and I assure you, you have probably met someone that made that idea sound intolerable. Even if the idea is one you believe.

There's a difference between being a homosexual, and being a fag. The regular gays are just like you but they like men, fags are the outrageous kind that feel like everyone has to know their gay.

  • I live near Seattle, which has been voted one of the gayest cities in the world, which does not suprise me. There are gay owned businesses and restaurants everywhere and regular gay events.
I do see some gay people act the way you describe, but they are a small minority. Most gay people I know do not act like strerotypical gays and you wouldn't even know they are gay unless they told you or you saw them being gay.
The reason gays seem how you describe is because those are the people who are most recognized as gay.

Perhaps it's a way of making their sexual orientation obvious to any prospective mate, since their potential pool of romantic/sexual partners is much smaller than a heterosexual male's.

So maybe some gay guys feel like it's a stereotype within the culture they need to adopt in order to meet other gay guys? Wearing their homosexuality on their sleeves, so to speak.

And there will be those who subconsciously pick up certain behavioural habits from the subculture simply by being around others who act in that way.

    that's not because their gay, it's because they're a-holes ;)
(no but really. they may be gay, but if they're acting femenine that's a gender thing, they're either drag or just a-holes)

Because they didn't go camping when they were younger and now they are over compensating.

Of course you could actually ask a Camp gay man.

okay so some of us gays act like this to show that gayness is a thing and that we are fun and remember annoying is just a opinion and usually younger gays act like how you describe.

The flamboyant ones get on my nerves too. If they are drag queens, I don't mind. Flamboyancy works so much better with them.

You don't have to be gay to be a drag queen.

I have a cousin who is gay. He and his boyfriend do not match your description. I never would have suspected he was gay until he came out of the closet. Flamboyant and annoying people are on all ends of the sexual spectrum. I guess we are just conditioned to believe that all gay people are like that because they are the obvious ones.

I'm just saying all the gay men you notice are that way. If they aren't that way you don't notice them and assume they are straight. I suppose I make the same assumption.

        • But being gay is about loving the same gender not about going out of your way to act a certain way. You can act normal and still be gay. I feel like they just want attention and are try hards.
