Why do fat people....

I get mad when I see fat people going into fast food restaurants... If I was fat I would not set foot into a fast food place... Also when everyone uses the handicap carts at wal-mart because they are fat not disabled....

I feel your anger as well, but this is something that these people are either going to have to learn on their own, or learn the hard way. It's not in a strangers place to tell another stranger how to live their life, unfortunately.

I've never once seen a fat guy or girl go into those cart things. They live their own lives. If you have such little to do with your life you have to criticize how other people live then you should go fuck yourself. Some people are naturally fat

everyone has choices and most fat people CHOSE to eat that crap because its easy. so its THEIR CHOICE TO BE LAZY AND FAT. the government here are trying to ban fast food places to try to control fat people but really they should just encourage them to eat healthier and excersise even just a little bit. maybe if they offered a rebate on excersise machines for their home?
i dont appreciate that they want to take junk food away because people cant make the right choices. its not fair on the people who do like to have that every now and again and who do make the right choices.

I agree. Mostly about fat people using wheelchairs or the handicap scooters. It's aggravating. It's disgusting that they are so fat and lazy that they have to use one of those. I say tell them to get off their lazy asses and walk around. Maybe they will lose some weight while walking for once.

You're being ignorant and closed minded. Some people are naturally built thick, just like some are naturally built thin. Some people have disorders and conditions where they gain a lot of weight, but could be extremely healthy. There are people who are under stress, have uncontrollable eating disorders, or inherit the gene for being overweight. Don't judge people just because of the way they may APPEAR. Maybe that person only goes into that fast food restaurant once a month. Or maybe that person was getting something for someone else. Maybe that person is gaining weight for health reasons. You have to keep a healthy BMI, everyone's is different.
You're being judgmental about things that aren't your business. The food is there to eat, and that is what people will do. They aren't hurting you by going into that fast food restaurant.

Thanks for understanding! I'm thankful that at least some people understand that people aren't just overweight because they eat a ton of food.

I'm overweight. But, I also have diabetes and other health problems. I do eat fast food, but only maybe once or twice a month. The rest of the time, I only eat about two (regular sized) meals a day. I wish more people understood. Thanks again princesspea. :)

you might want to eat a little more than two meals a day. if you eat 4 to five small meals a day, you know, spread those two bigger meals into five smaller meals, your metabolism will work better and you will actually lose more weight

The things that makes me, personally, dislike fat people is the abundance of them - especially in San Antonio. It's like 3 out of 5 people need to check themselves here, but most of them are Mexicans, not white. I wouldn't be upset if my business kind of didn't tailor to them, but it does. I kill myself staying positive training them, motivating them, but more times then not they end of leaving the program and regaining their weight back. I understand it's psychological...but I also know that it's physically detrimentral. All those healthrisks and health problems...eventually arthritic or swollen knees and hips...poor posture....higher healthcare costs for the rest of us. Recently the media said that obese people want their weight to be considered a "disability" and for everyone to "quit discriminating". A) obesity is NOT a disability. A disability is having a certain issues there's nothing you can do to fix it i.e. muscular dystrophy -that's a nonmodifiable factor. Obesity is a modifiable factor. All and all, people need to quit being so weak minded that they pick up self-gratifying habits that will ultimately diminish their quality of life and health....just like smokers. You know you love to smoke...but you don't love those wrinkles on your face and that phlegm you just coughed up. There's many things one can do to make themselves happy..self-defeats and reward systems with food shouldn't be one of them.

I don't really see why a Hutt at Pizza Hutt or some such place would anger you; that's not much different from seeing a chain-smoker at a tobacco store. Fat people using facilities intended for the handicapped on the other hand, that is a normal thing to be irritated by. (Yes, some probably are disabled for real, but not all of them.)

You may think that you would act one way in a certain situation; however, unless you have been in that same situation you honestly don't know what you would do. Therefore, you shouldn't judge others for choices they make, 1) because its not your business, and 2) because you've never walked in their shoes.

I agree but I don't like seeing anyone go to fast food. It especially pisses me off when I see my family do it, because they always complain about how they are "fat". Maybe if they tried a different dieting, it would change.

OH god not this again.....heres a hint DONT LOOK AT THEM!It is none of your business if they eat celery or four BigMacs in one go.It is not your place to deside what anyone else can or cannot eat.If you were them maybe you would "do something about it" but you arent so how about respecting their rights to eat whatever the hell they want....like its supposed to be.And FYI most "fat people" are not lazy, how in the HELL are they going to afford to even EAT there if they dont have a LIFE AND A JOB IN THE FIRST PLACE. Sitting on your ass all day=no money to buy anything. So how about mind your business and others wil mind theirs.

  • When a owner of a buffet sees an obese person walking or rolling in, they say to themselves: "Shit I'm going to lose so much money now.."

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • So, because I'm skinny, I'm allowed to be seen eating fast food, but a fat person shouldn't?

Discrimination towards any one group of people, including the obese, is morally & ethically WRONG.
So, that means that all you people who share the original poster's extreme prejudices are NOT moral individuals.

Just because you see other people stigmatizing a group of people does NOT mean it is OK for you to do it too.

for a long time i wouldn't go in to fast food resteraunts because i was afraid of people who thought like you. i also had huuuge anxiety attacks when my mom would spend fifty minutes picking out candy and i had to sit there with her trying not to die.

everybody eats, though. fat people have just as much of a right to go out and eat as you do. it's their choice, so get over it.

Umm, why on earth are you angry? You almost sound like fat people are an offence to your eye and shouldn't be allowed to exist. Where do you drawn the line with this? Got a problem with black people, maybe? Or Jews? Women? Why can't you just let people be, instead of judging them even though you have absolutely no right to do that.

And no, I'm not overweight. I'm just sick of people getting a kicking for no good reason.

Fast food outlets have been for years causing a pandemic called obesity. This pandemic will one day affect every single person on this planet (check out WHO statistics). So we have all right to be angry with fat people. Those with obesity caused by diseases are EXCLUDED though.

Think out of the box and try to understand this....
Eating fast food and being obese is a personal choice with huge global effects. Unprotected sex is a personal choice too, now think of the number of HIV cases. Got my point?

I understand that people have to be responsible for their own lives, but who here has never eaten fast food or had unprotected sex? Who has ever sunbathed? Ever smoked? Ever drank alcohol? Ever driven a car? Who has eaten produce they didn't grow and cook themselves, without the use of pesticides?

I understand your point. I do. But my point is that we're almost forced to do things that aren't in our best interests.

If you're going to go on a rant about fat people, why not about people who drive cars? Cars cause 700,000 deaths per year solely as a result of accidents.

It seems to me that you are picking on people because of their size. That's known as bullying.

          Quoting from

          http://www.who.int/dietphysicalactivity/childhood_consequences/en/index.html

Why does childhood overweight and obesity matter?
Consequences of an unhealthy lifestyle during childhood
Childhood obesity is associated with a higher chance of premature death and disability in adulthood.

Overweight and obese children are more likely to stay obese into adulthood and to develop noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) like diabetes and cardiovascular diseases at a younger age.

For most NCDs resulting from obesity, the risks depend partly on the age of onset and on the duration of obesity. Obese children and adolescents suffer from both short-term and long-term health consequences.

The most significant health consequences of childhood overweight and obesity, that often do not become apparent until adulthood, include:

          •cardiovascular diseases (mainly heart disease and stroke);
          •diabetes;
          •musculoskeletal disorders, especially osteoarthritis; and
•certain types of cancer (endometrial, breast and colon).
Data from 2005 shows the long-term consequences of an unhealthy lifestyle:

At least 2.6 million people each year die as a result of being overweight or obese.

The OP is about fast food, that's why I targeted it in my comment. There are obese people even in places where fast food restaurants don't exist, Iran is an example. Both my anger and sympathy are directed toward those who are obese regardless of what they eat.

Eating fast food and having unprotected sex were only examples from a long list of behaviors that are originally personal choices but affect the general population as a whole. The examples you mentioned are from that list, and I totally agree with you on all of them. People totally ignore the outcome of their actions and live selfishly as if social responsibility was a crime.

I truly sympathize with obese people, they clearly need help overcome their "addiction" and selfishness, yes their way of life is really selfish; "let me eat and become fat and later dysfunctional, let me raise fat kids cuz I'm fat and can't ask them to go slim, I don't care how much I'll cost the health care system and spend the taxpayers' money on my avoidable obesity-caused diseases instead of putting that money in schools or treating kids with cancer".

I insist that obesity is becoming a major pandemic. Again, I invite you to read WHO (World Health Organization) statistics and see the bleak future of an obese world population.

Smoking is bad, so is eating fast food. The governments raised taxes on cigarettes to discourage people from smoking, why not do that with fast food??

First of all, I bet you would set both of your feet at a fast food restaurant if you were fat because you know damn well it tastes good and you wouldn't be able to resist it, so cut the crap. Secondly, my family and I are fat and none of us use those cart thingies at Wal-Mart. I try to eat fast food only once a week, by the way. So, yeah.
