Why do chinese people skin animals alive?

I saw the worst thing i have ever seen on youtube. I saw how they skin animals for fur in China. They treat them sooo bad, and they rip their skin off while the animal is still alive. It broke my heart to see this animal looking in the camera, with its skin completely gone and covered in blood. Is this normal in China? Why don't they kill the animal first? Do they get some sick pleasure out of seeing an animal suffer? Is this how all Chinese people are? They make me ashamed to be Asian. They also remind me of the Nazis. I think they would do this to humans if they got money for it.

Your passion for wanting to protect those who cannot protect themselves shines through your words.

There's much in life that bother us which doesn't seem to bother other, so called, people.

When we first see things like that, we are shocked, upset and angered, and we can't seem to comprehend that people can do such things.

Unfortunately though, there are many things like that, and there will always be, and there's little, if anything that we can do about it.

Most people learn to turn a blind eye, to forget that such things happen because to think about them is just too upsetting.

Some people though, whose anger about such things might push them to do something about it, might try to see if they can.

Maybe you would like to look into joining and perticipating in an animal rights' program.

Try Googling Animal Rights Societies or Animal Rights Activism and you can channel some of your obvious heartfelt passion for animal rights into something rewarding.

Be warned though, some people can be very cruel.

    Good luck with it.

Then you'd be surprised to learn of the type of things they do in other countries. I mean, what the fuck is up with foie gras? More like fat, swollen, diseased organ eaten as a delicacy. How mouthwatering. They force feed the poor birds by shoving a tube down their throats till they literally burst.

I could go on and on. But you get the idea. There are fucked up humans everywhere. Being Chinese has nothing to do with it.

I have just sat and watched a video on youtube/facebook of chinese people been absolutely vile to animals, they skinned the animals while they was still alive, there heart was still beating, they threw cages of lorrys straight to the floor, and shattered bones in there bodys, they threw the remains onto a pile of other animals. This is absolutely vile and wrong, I wouldnt ever want to meet a person who had done this to an animal, its wrong in every single way! Its sick, they are sick in the head. They need hanging, they really do. I had to find somewhere I could comment about this, because I had to let out my feelings toward this somewhere, as I think this is vile, sick, sick minded, dirty vile bastards, who deserve nothing, they all need tying to a train track! If I ever saw anybody doing this I wouldn't take a second to think about it, the closest sharpest object and put it right to there bastard throat, cruel fuckers! makes me so pissing angry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish a few of you commenters would think critically, like PiAnt. He/she wrote: "Unfortunately though, there are many things like that, and there will always be, and there's little, if anything that we can do about it."

    Really?
As long as we Refuse to believe and accept that, humankind has a future. Albert Einstein believed that our species wouldn't get very far unless we learned how to treat those weaker than ourselves, those that cannot speak for nor defend themselves, with kindness and respect. So far, mankind abuses animals and their own children, at an epidemic rate.

Here is a quote from Einstein: "A human being is a part of the whole, called by us the “Universe,” a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separate from the rest – a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely, but the striving for such achievement is in itself a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security."

Right there is your answer, OP. The reason people (all around the world) do these things, is because of a mass delusion of separation. Where does it come from? It's simple. Humankind believes we are better than animals. This belief is deeply ingrained over thousands and thousands of years. Religion might be to blame. I am still trying to find the origin of this horrible belief. I feel that it is my life's mission. Some philosophers have claimed that suppression of nature goes hand in hand with suppression of women. I am also researching the root of of female oppression and where it began.
Another reason is inability to identify with the pain of others, because we are cut off from pain within ourselves. I recommend reading some books by Alice Miller, and you will begin to understand what I mean.

So yes - there IS hope. It will take time. But the hope is there! All of us must work on eradicating the delusion of separation. By becoming self-aware. By encouraging self-awareness in others, especially in our children. Ending child abuse. Everything is connected.

I believe one day we will be ONE, our furry brothers and sisters, and us - the whole world.

Another thought comes to mind in this. Why are those filming just standing there doing nothing about it? I have had the displeasure of seeing one of those films, The way the animals look when they are there, after having their skin torn off is really pitiful. The pain must be unbearable, or they would try to run away.

The camera operators and film crews are themselves pretty heartless for not at least turning away, trying to intervene, or at least finding a way to end the animal's sufferings.
More disgusting than the act itself is the role of those filming the act who allow it to happen. "Journalistic Integrity" and all that aside; Pish posh! How could they be so heartless?

I can think of only one thing worse that has been filmed, when the journalists were in Vietnam watching the Viet Cong shoot American POW's in the face and filming it.

They do not care. They do not care how the animals feel it is not happening to them so why does it matter. It is because they are sick sadistic and cruel. Many of them laugh while this is happening. They think it is amazing and funny when they still move and are in pain. they like watching the animals suffer. they do not realize if we did that to there family they would be horrified. To them it is nothing they feel it fun to torture them after all they deserve it for getting caught. Lets just say they are sick bastards all there is to say about that.

I feel offended when you denounce a specific ethnic group, esp. when you insult Korean people.
What did Korean people do to animals? It's not like they killed people without remorse like what happened in WW2 in Nanjing.

If you have someone or something to offend, you have the right to offend yourself, not someone else, not a group of people, but yourself.

      • It's just not right to offend a whole group of people or a whole land cuz not everyone in those countries is a sick bastard like some are... it's just prejudical cuz there are sick animal-killing bastards all over the world!

Uh. It's not just Asians. Look up the Faroe Islands or other nordic lands and their traditions. Don't make blanket statements without research.

I think they skin the animals when still alive because the body is at its warmest and means that the fur can be taken off in one piece ather than several (which doesn't make an ideal fur coat).
I totally disagree with this act. Terrible.
The lengths people will go to for fashion purposes. They should be ashamed.

These types of jobs are very cruel and really upsetting. In my opinion it reallly just depends on the person on why they are doing it. For example, many people who don't have a decent job could be doing this job and get tons of money now that fashion is interested in fur. In today's world we have problems of poverty so it is not new to see people do extreme jobs to aid their families. Also in general, many people don't like spending a lot of money when you don't need to so they use poison, electric stunning renders, just suffocating them, etc. And these are all the type of weapons where there is no close contact and very cheap. If they wanted to slit their throats they would have to catch them but they know that the animals are already horrified thus it could bite them so they don't use that method and instead use those cheap weapons.

But those who throw them to the ground and beat them up actually don't care about the animals and it doesn't even cost moeny so they often do that. those type of people, in my opinion, is the cause of their culture. You might have heard about this but many asian cultures eat many animals that we see as pets like dogs, cats, rabbits, monkeys, etc. Meaning they see them as food like cows, chicken. But that doesn't mean all asians view animals like that. It's like how in America some chicken farms are very cruel too. Because chickens aren't viewed very highly so they don't think that kicking them would mean anything. Same in some asian cultures.

For those who actually laugh at the animals that are suffering, not 100% sure, but need some help. they could be suffering from serious, psychological problems and need help.

Many people could actually trick themselves into thinking that this is no problem and endure stuff like these.

This doesn't mean i support them, im just saying these could be the possible reasons why they are doing it. Plus i am asian and have lived in the country side so I know well how some asians don't care about animals they are taking care of. Just for business and money they will do anything.

Overall I think that most people just don't know that what they are doing is wrong and so they could just brush it off and do it. They could see those animals as slugs being sprinkled by salt. That's how lowly they think of them but i don't think that is their fault, more like culture and society that is influencing them.

Erm... Thats a little prejudice. Just saying all chinese are like that. I'm a little offended by that as well! I mean i understand that the NATIVE TRIBES over there skin animals alive but thats for religious reasons. Although mabye some people who are more modern do it... I'm still offended that you think all chinese are like this.

This isn't normal in China. But I believe that the reason why this happens is because the PRC let the country jump into business too soon without a moral standard. Correct me if I'm wrong.

No one said the fur would be for fashion. Fur has been used for survival for a long time, even now, fur is still one of the better materials to keep warm in. Still this kind of skinning is inhumane, and should be stopped. Though there is nothing more we can do about it other than voice opinions

Yup. A lot of cultures do not respect animals they like watching it suffer they do not care about the pain it feels or the horror. They are as sick and as heartless as murderers. This is why I stand for the correct treatment of sea life. If anyone wants to help my campaign send me a message. I am for the humane killing of fish.

It is sad to see; Quite awful. Especially when you see the animals suffering afterwards.
While I do hunt occasionally and I fish, and I have had to clean the meat afterwards, I am so glad I do not have to do that daily just to survive.
It is not easy, it is gruesome and I worry that the animal is still alive when it comes time to butcher.

Looking at it from an American perspective it is unwarranted barbarism, you'll get no argument there, however, I do not know the customs in China for the slaughter of animals for meat and fur.

The customs for slaughter of animals and use of meat and skin are varied. The Jewish have to follow Kosher Laws in their religion. The Muslims have to follow Halal customs in their religion. It is possible there is some set of customs or beliefs which aren't clearly discussed or conveyed when the filming of the animals is conducted.

It is normal to be horrified by it, without knowing more, it looks barbaric and unnecessary. And through the prism of American beliefs and culture, there is no need to cause unneeded suffering in order to have the fur, skin or meat of an animal.

Don't be ashamed of being Chinese, just be who you are.
