Why did she ask me 1 random question

I went to my first lesbian meet up over a month ago now, met the 2 lovely ladies who were having a gathering at their apartment. Anyways, one of them I kinda find super cute but I would at least like to befriend her, she seems hard to get hold of, I usually ask her if shes going to this event or the other cause if she says yes then I'll try to go to hang out as Friends but its almost impossible to get a 100%guarantee shes going , she usually like maybe. Anyways theres this thing on Friday, I asked her if shes going? She said no she has a friends gig on I said hmm okay, dont u usually attend these meet ups, she said 90%of the time yes, I said oh cool then she asked what I do when I dont work ? Why did she ask me this? I replied Actually besides, looking after all the animals and stuff at home, I started going to the beach more often than not, its peaceful and nice way to chill, she just said oh cool, what a great idea so she just askd me one question that's it? Kinda odd? Why didnt she ask what animlas i have, she just asked one random question out of the blue. She never hardly asked a personal question.
