Why can't there be a plain clothing store??

I wish there was a clothing store that only sold plain, basic wardrobe elements.

I'm tired of trying to shop for clothes and there's always something 'weird' about them. I pick up what I think is a plain t-shirt but it has a weird cut or a stupid useless tiny pocket on it. Why can't it just be PLAIN??!!

I HATE having to look through all kinds of new and in fashion items to find something plain. There's times when I want to look at trendy and new clothing, but there's a lot of times when I DON'T, and don't have time for it either!!

Something always comes up and I don't have the clothes for it....funeral, job interview, court date...all that kind of stuff. I find myself shopping stressfully and many time fruitlessly because I can't find something that's just plain and simple, nothing funny about it.

Why is it easier to find a fucking chicken suit than it is to find a plain, well made white t-shirt with a nice classic cut? There's something wrong with this picture!!

I can't be the only one...anyone else want a plain, normal, no weird cuts and styles, clothing store? Get in, grab what you were looking for, and get out. A store that has good quality wardrobe staples only!!

Banana Republic is good for plain, nice work basics.

I tend to go for flashy, well marked cloths when I am not at work. I like bright colors!

While at work I wear button up dress shirts, a tie, and slacks. Usually bought at JC Penneys or Maceys.

You need to shop at Kohls!

They have a lot of solid colored tops that are plain. You can get a top that is solid white that is crew neck or even a v neck.

I use to shop there all the time.

    • Don't they have their name written on all of their clothes, and other decoration? Or am I thinking of some other brand?

You may have to go for specialty brands or try looking in places like walmart. If not, there's online.

    • I'd prefer better quality than WalMart because I'd like to find some basic pieces and be able to have them for years without them falling apart. I'm not a fan of buying clothes online because I like to feel them and try them on, I have never been too thrilled with any clothes I've bought online.

Lol, I hate shopping for clothing. (mainly because I'm a guy, but still). I hope my future girlfriend/wife likes to buy clothes for me. That would be pretty cool I think.

I guess it would be pretty cool if stores had a generic/plain section where you could go to get just regular clothing like you said. Most of my clothing is odd-ball stuff too, and it would be nice to have some uniformity throughout my wardrobe sometimes.

  • Go to a work-wear store - almost everything there is "basic" and non-fuss.

And instead of searching for an item, ask a sales clerk - it's their job to help you, make them work.

    • Can you name some? I'm really limited in choices here where I live, so I'd need to know some specific names as I'd have to travel to another city.

      • You're going to have to Google that because I live in Canada - my stores are going to be different than your stores.
