Why aren't there more vigilantes?

Often I see things in the news on facebook where everyone will comment how they would kill the bad person in the news, but rarely, if ever, does someone actually go do it. I get why people want to but I'm not sure why out of so many people nobody does. I suppose one thing that would prevent this is most people do not want to get caught and it would take a lot of time, effort, and money to get away with it, especially if they made a habit out of it. Serial killers often prey on weak people, so it could be a challenge to target victims who are even more evil and violent than you are. I think it could be done though if someone actually wanted to do it, so I'm not sure why nobody does, such as someone who doesn't really have anything going for them but has the money to buy the tools needed to get away with it.

    I'd love to see thugs shot dead much more often, a LOT more often. It should be like a hunting sport :)

    Vigilantes don’t advertise success rates. Bad ppl go missing everyday.

      It would probably be very easy to simply snipe people through a window at their house. If I actually did it I would personally like to create a scene which would require kidnapping the victim and torturing them on video to post on the internet and then leave the mutilated corpse somewhere in public. The purpose would be to leave fear to anyone thinking of doing the same. However this would be extremely difficult to get away with.

        They tried that with the death penalty and it doesn’t stop evil people from being evil. They just need to be put down however possible.
        Sniping draws all kinds of attention and you have to shut your morality off to torture someone.
        The best way is a random mugging or gang violence that resulted in death. *wink wink*.

          Personally I would only target pedophiles and other child abusers. I don't particularly care about other crimes.

              I mostly agree but can excuse certain murderers if they had a good reason to do it.

    There's a reason why it's illegal. The average joe wouldn't be able to stop themselves from going a little too far with it, until eventually they're killing innocent people that they only suspect of committing a crime.

    FBI corrupt and weaponized. CIA, IRS, DOJ- same. Major police departments run by the local political MOB and drug lords. Entire states giving the constitution the finger. You'll see more vigilantism soon. Frontier justice. Stay tuned.
