Why are you stereotyped?

Plain and simple, haters gonna hate.

I'm stereotyped as an air-head rebel. People think I'm an attention whore because I dye my hair different colors. I'm also stereotyped because I'm Japanese. I apparently love: Hello Kitty, eating dolphins, nuclear power plants, and bombing Hawaii. Smh.

I get two conflicting stereotypes. On the internet, I'm stereotyped as a nerd and people imagine me to be scrawny, myopic, and not very social. In real-life, I'm stereotyped as someone who works in security (because of my build and attire) and people imagine me as a meat-head with no higher brain function.

I don't care, though. I even have fun with it. Although there are days when I'd like to challenge both stereotypes by wrestling someone to the ground and holding them there while I explain how Spearman's rank order co-efficient measures the extent to which two sets of discrete data place the distinct items in the same order.

"Ignorance and peoples assumptions"

I've met many ignorant people who stereotype me because I was different from them. I'm androgynous and a few people have wrongly assumed that I was gay because of my fashion sense. There was one time that I went to a mall. I followed my friend in a bookstore so, I could make sure that she would be okay. I had $5 for coffee and not enough for a book. I asked a few questions and started to browse. This uptight bitch comes out of nowhere and starts asking me "questions". I was so bother by this, that I asked my friend if she wanted to go to another shop so she wouldn't have to be accosted by that woman. We left and for the longest time I was left bothered by that woman. I'm guessing she was a bigot and because I was in my teens and my skin is the colour of cafe au lait, she thought I was going to steal books! I'm guessing that it was mostly because I was in my teens, because there was a dark woman the colour of chocolate, who looked like she was in her twenties, not once did I see that bitch harass her!

Stereotyping is idiotic and time consuming. When, it boils down to it, it's caused by sheer ignorance, misinformation and fear.

People are bored with their own lives and feel the need to judge everyone else. I always get asked in stores if I need help finding something. I say no thanks, but the person still lurks in my shadows. I don't steal, asshole. I just leave and never patronize their store again. People seem to also assume that I'm a druggie or something. Maybe its easy to pinpoint me because I stand out. So what!!! I'm a grown woman who is responsible. Back off.

I get stereotyped by my parents quite often.
First I'm a goth because I have black hair, used to have my septum pierced and like nu metal.
Then I'm a loser because I studying a diploma instead of a degree like my sister.
I'm going with ignorance.

im stereotype from the west in the media and pple by being a female from middle east which they think im being abused, uneducated, backwards and oil rich while still living in a tent

O_o ..... um what ? its been more than 10 years abd u still think that way and oh where's the money donations in your pocket is actually going and benefiting anyone ?

like if some thinks ur house is empty of food and that person asks money , is'nt that person suppose to come by and visit ur house but then realize there's still food there ? then how come ur still using me as an example ?

stereotyped , used and exploited ..... not only that ... i use to have a huuuuuge crush on a guy but now he hates me

but the most awkward part is when they think and say ur being treated as second class and poor lol when u visit them they TREAT you as a second class but worst with harrasment by the SAME people . so no and the annoying part is when they think ur sooo rich but wearing normal clothes the criticise u

but when u get expensive things they criticise u even more

its like im damned if i don't and damned if i do

what i learned is from this.... just enjoy urself and do whatever u want
and stay away from jealous and drama queens

All stereotypes are based in commonalities and truth, otherwise people would not get so upset with them.

Never , ever , been stereotyped anything , even in school I was the black sheep and proud of it.
Makes me laugh sometimes when you meet someone and they think your just like them , if only they knew !
