Why are there so many australian women on this site?

I am new to this site.. kind of. Although I have been a member for couple of months I don't visit very often. Whenever I do, I usually read questions and answers of other people. When I find an answer interesting, I usually click on the profile of the user. Usually on other sites and forums, most people I encounter are from the US and second highest are from Europe. I don't know whether it's a co-incidence but most of the profile I clicked on turned out to be of females from Australia. Why is that? Is this an Australian site? I am not complaining, I am just honestly curious. Also, where are you from?
