A tough one but I would say poor education.
Though there is a flip side to this argument that some "education" can be classified as some form of brain washing thus void the creativity of an individual to enhance/understand new things.

Alright I will give you the reason people are stupid. Since 90% of the people on this earth think with the heart in the chest, and the crotch in the pants apposed to thinking things through to find a logical solution. People who think logically are about 10% and are the ones who hold shit together become doctors, scientists and teachers because they want to help and be productive. They carry the rest of this got forsaken planet on their backs and when something goes wrong THEY FIX IT!
However since this 10% is not the majority anything they do is often frowned upon and they are often used, abused and treated like dicks when all they want to do is help. The 90% does the following. Yeah I am 14 and fucked without protection and now am pregnant oh my god what do I do?DUMB FUCK! Oh well I don't think drinking and driving will do anything DEAD OR VEHICULAR MANSLAUGHTER. Group of thugs beat up a retarded child to look cool PRISON.
Now that is 90 percent of our fucking worthless population. So what happens to the 10 percent they become either isolated or stuck up snobs since they were treated bad all their lives and no one fucking listens to them. So you want to know why? PEOPLE USE THE WRONG FUCKING ORGAN TO MAKE THE CHOICES. Does that dick care if you get clamedia? NO! Does your vag care if you cant care for the baby NO! Does that heart know where money comes from? PROBABLY NOT!

The mindless pick the biggest idiot to run things. They are nothing but sheep and will follow anything the sweet talker says but the smooth talking ruler only talks of his problems.
The intelligent see the issues but no one listens to them since most are too ignorant to see the problems. These are the people crunching numbers in the back saying "Hey this is a bad idea" and everyone ignores them till later.
Being a smooth talker does not make you brilliant it just means you can talk out of a bad situation but it does not mean you fixed it. People will follow someone who talks big even if they are the biggest fraud on the planet. These smooth talkers lead economy's to collapse and do nothing but steal. Charm is a skill its has often not based on being brilliant.
A smooth talker steals what he can and goes off to scam somewhere else. The sheep simply follow whatever someone who presents well says. The intelligent people do not always know how to talk there way in and out of things so are often ignored by the sheep. They end up keeping everything together when stuff falls apart or trying to fix it when everything crumbles.

You seem to forget we are not like other animals. Other animals do not have doctors and medical care. If you are sick you get medication, if you are injured you get aid. If someone jumps off a building tied to a rope and hits the ground we have people ready to try and repair that man.

Also its survival of the "Fittest" as in what ever is most adapted will survive and sometimes the smartest creature wins. If you ever took biology you would know what that means.
It depends on the environment. If the environment calls for small size and big brains those people survive. If it calls for big muscle house brutes they survive. Please educate yourself on this subject. You clearly don’t know shit about it.
Also being big and strong is not always a good thing. Science has shown a lot of larger creatures died out when they did not have enough to hunt in the area. Since they had so much muscle and weight to support if the supply ever ran out the smaller creatures survive. You also are completely forgetting insects which have survived all these years.

It's incredibly important to think with the heart in your chest. If we didn't, we would still own slaves and raping and killing would be legal. People aren't stupid, they're smart in what they know.
Intelligence is the ability to acquire and apply knowledge. Everyone brings something to the table, which is how society functions. What is a doctor without a receptionist, after all? A doctor has no time to learn those skills. A teacher was once a student, naive and ignorant. A 14 year old getting pregnant? It was someone elses responsibility to teach her not to. She didn't get an opportunity to become smart before such a situation.
Also, several doctors and teachers don't apply their knowledge and they actually add a good deal to the problem. So even though they were smart, they become a burden to society.The point is, you can't place intelligence into groups. Some people are smart in bad situations, some stupid in good situations.

Well actually intelligence is the ability to process information, nothing more, nothing less. A person acquiring and applying it is an after effect, there are many failed intellectuals in the world and throughout history. It is genetic, you're simply born with a certain ability to process things, what you do with it is irrelevant. The unabomber killed innocent people, that's all he ended up doing with his life, and yet he runs rings around 99% of the population on an intellectual scale.

You know, I always felt that intelligence could be measured by how one finds creative solutions to challenging problems. Of course, those are personal feelings, so I looked up the definition.
I found the how one processes information to be a very viable definition, unfortunately the free online dictionary included the word apply, so even though I feel that was off, I went with it anyway. However, the IQ of the person also matters, the shape of the brain has a lot to do with it (if its smoother - lower IQ), but thats not about genetics, for example an intelligent child can be born to dumb parents and vice versa. Education still plays a big role even here though, weather the person will have the chance to reach their full potential or not...
