Why are guys obsessed with star wars??

For all you boys/men out there what is the freaking deal with Star Wars.. I have a 4 yr old son and he is now obsessed with star wars and can narrate the whole movie.. I don't mind Star Wars but want to know from guys perspectives what the whole deal is about. Every guy I've ever know has mentioned Star Wars in one way or another and it has now overtaken my son as well. I think all guys have a Star Wars gene or something..

    im a 14 year old girl and i loveeeee star wars. maybe not obsesed. everyone has a thing. - sports, drawing, singing, writing,
    star wars is just their thing.

    i think its about having cool guns, being able to transport anywhere and bangin alien chicks would be the biggest seller i think. i am a girl and i dont mind watching star wars, i find their interpretation of the universe interesting and probably not that far off from the truth.

    I don't know much about kids, I'm amazed how much you can understand and still not remember it. I think 2 year olds use iProducts, right?

    Because it's awesome? I mean i'm a hardcore trekkie but star wars is awesome. People who say it sucks are just wanna be popular people who think it's cool to have no opinions. Embrace nerdom. Nerdness is hot.(I'm a girl)

    the operative word here is "obsessed"... I enjoyed the original movies in 78, 80, and 82.. (not sure if those dates are accurate), and not so much "Return of the Jedi".... BUT.. that was it, I don't go to conventions, and I have not seen any of the movies in over ten plus years.... I would have to say, that the "Trekies" are worse though... they learn how to speak "Klingon"... what a waste of time, and life.

      First off, the Star Wars universe is one of the most in depth and well thought out series ever created, it certainly deserves its loyal fanbase, also before you insult klingon how many people do you know that are so passionate about something to learn a whole new language, also the klingon culture is much more pure hearted then ours, so maybe show a litle respect to the people who indulge in such intellectually stimulating experiences as star wars and star trek.

    ^^^ lmfaoooo,amen brotha...when i was a kid i went through the star wars phase. I bet he asked for all the space crafts and figures to go with it too lol. Aussie wolf has the right idea, its got to do with the crazy guns ,the adventure ,the battles all the cool stuff little boys like. at least hes not one of those 4 yr olds who already use the internet better then you.
