I've been smelling this weird unusual smell that no one else, except me smell. It kind of smells like gas you put in a car (sort of, not the exact smell). Everytime I smell it my head starts to hurt. I was wondering if this was psychologic or is something physically wrong with me.
Could be an "aura", a perceptual disturbance some people experience before a migraine or seizure. Or some people just have them without having migraines or seizures.
You should see a doctor though, there's always a slight chance it could be something more serious.
That happened to my wife some years. Then she started to get cold feelings in the ends of her hands and sometimes her hands went stiff. It was a symptom of complex migrains for her. She ended up having full seizures so you better get to a doctor. My wife was treated by a nueorologist in the end. It was an argument between doctors about epilepsy or Migraine.
But it all started with the smelling things. she used to say it was sort of like amonia.

I experience strange smells that have no apparent source too... I'm not trying to scare you but you might have a brain tumour. Please, get a brain scan ASAP!
There is a kind of Epileptic seizure, in which the person smells something no-one else smells like rotting fish or something, right when they smelled it, they get a seizure. Uncontrollable anger bursts for example. You should go to a doctor for this just to be sure.
But yes it is normal as it might be Epilepsie.

Is it all the time or just in a specific room or home? If it is in your home or some other residence there may be a gas leak or some other type of dangerous leak. If youa re the obly one smelling it and it is all of the time you should figure out if it is on your clothes or shoes. If it is making your head hurt it is probablly very real and needs attention soon.
I would talk to a doctor about that - I remember reading something about that. But definitely not normal.
