Why am getting electroshocks sometimes?

Here is the thing. Sometimes when I touch objects, especially when I touch people I get small electroshock (or idk what else it is), I mean not that it would really hurt me but it very much noticeable that people often back up and look at me like I intended to do it. It's annoying at the times.
Any thoughts?

  • This happens to me at the store sometimes, when I touch shopping carts or the fence on the escalator. I think it's static electricity.

That used to happen to me all the time; I dunno why it stopped but I'm glad. I used to shock people and it'd actually hurt. You'd see the line of electricity and hear it clearly. Once, I shocked my cellphone and it shut off. Crazy stuff.

Static electricity... Get a balloon and rub it with speed on your hair hold it next to a wall and it will stick to it for a while, fun times.

add an anti static cloth to your laundry if you put it in the tumble dryer and/or change your shoes.

yeah its just static electricity. when i wear certain shoes, they rub on the carpet and charge up then when i touch anything metal, it shocks me.

It's worse in the winter too. Static electricity sucks especially when it's in your hair -_-

yeah, it's friction caused by rubbing your feet on carpet (or the like), and then when you touch some (a human it part water, so is a conductibe), you get a shock caused by static. it would work if you touch metals too.

I get them all the time. Sometimes I get shocked repeatedly every 10 seconds or so. It gets really bad in the winter.

      to comeflywithme...

you probably feel it more in the winter cuz you probably wipe your boots on carpets more often or walk around in more wool "concentrated" socks. or clothes for the matter.
