If a person carrying a semi-auto shotgun stood up against someone carrying a Tommy gun, who do you think would most likely win that encounter? Both people have similar shooting skills.

Im a man that actually prefers rifles myself. But in a house or in a building its hard to beat a shotgun. A rifle bullet can often hit someone and they continue fighting as they bleed out. A shotgun will literally blow a hole in them or blow their arm clean off. If you dont believe me you can look up shotgun injuries on google. I dont recommend you look but its incredibly destructive. Its literally a hand held canon.
I prefer a rifle all around because of its low recoil. I can put serious rounds without losing accuracy.
Most people with self defense shotguns have slugs...
A shotgun with slugs is accurate out to at least 180 ft if the person knows how to aim it (and does not panic pull it off target due to the stress).
A person shot with a slug will notice that unless it just grazes them.
A Tommy gun if pretty ineffective at 180 ft, and it takes a lot of skill and training not to spray bullets all over the place.
Let me load a shutgun with slugs and it wins.
If not - I believe you are in the chance area and its not possible to predict unless someone is highly trained.
