Michael. A depressed, emotional, passionate self-loathing alcohol abusing guy, stuck in the past, that wants to sort out his life? Grade-A character right there. During the game he grows as a character and deals with those issues, finally realizing that American dream in the end. Going from depressed to borderline suicidal, to happy.
By the end of the game he is a proud businessman and family man, who can only look back at his success and think of the future. Brilliant character!
I see myself in Michael in a couple of ways. He is without doubt the best GTA character, followed by Tommy. 80s mafia in Miami. Classic.
Then we got CJ following in a close third. 90s ghetto life, family drama, betrayal, legacy...
Followed by Trevor. A walking psychological disorder encyclopedia. A very emotional and fragile man, engulfed in a storm of rage to cover up those issues.
Franklin is up next. The young, aspiring dreamer with a rough history.
Then we got Niko. Betrayed ex-soldier, witness of many atrocities, wanting to turn the page and finally Claude.
I gave up playing games a long ago (like around 2008, nearly 10 years ago) but was a huge fan of Gta San Andreas, so CJ for me, though Big Smoke was my most favorite character overall...
