Who squats to light a cigarette?

I gave someone a light for their cigarette. They took it, then squatted in this weird running pose while they lit up. Is it normal?

When I first read this last night, I laughed out loud. I didn't post because I was euphoric from watching football and didn't trust my instincts. I just read it again and laughed out loud again. If someone did that anywhere near me, I'd laugh in their face. I wouldn't be able to help it. This is so funny!

I don't and nor have I ever witnessed someone do that.

Perhaps, he was trying to hold in his bowels or maybe he finds it pleasurable?

Sounds kind of odd . whatever though long as they are not bothering I be more offended by the ciggerate not the fact they like to squat ?

I do a wind pose. Mine is but a hand gesture. Not that I smoke with any regularity.

I certainly don't do that. But it does sound funny. It would've made me laugh.

    My first guess was wind.

Did you think for a minute he was going to take off with your lighter?

Eh, I suppose it could be normal, people get into habits for lighting, usually due to wind issues and tend to do those things even if it's not windy. That's probably what it was I guess. Or maybe he got in trouble for smoking as a kid and had to be ready to run away from his dad and the habit stuck.

An illustration would be nice here. Would you be able to provide one?

    • Shoot, I knew I should have brought my camera. I don't think I could capture it quite right with drawing. I could mime it!
