I sleep pretty well now. I have a clear conscience about the people I murder.
I tried to keep to a set of simple rules to get me to sleep.
I don't have a tv or computer in my room, no eating 2-3 hours before bedtime except liquids like water, no naps during the day and most importantly keeping to a routine of sleeping at a particular time.
So far this has helped me to sleep properly so I can properly function during the day.
I seem to have recurring boats with insomnia. I've found that coffee (with milk and without) seems to really help to give me a sound sleep. I used to eat dried Goji berries to promote good sleep and habits. When I would go to bed, I stay asleep and wake at a reasonable time in the morning. They worked so well but, I sadly had to stop because they seemed to be causing me breathing problems.
I stay up until, often times, very early in the morning. Usually, waking sometime in the afternoon.
I sleep best in darkness with relaxing music. I get the best results when it is instrumentals - think Classical.
It seems to be rather difficult for me to even be able to find a comfortable position in my own bed. The mattress is not the problem, it's my pillows.
Heat gives me insomnia. But lately my sleep cycles have been all over the place...and I can't sleep without CBD pot brownie. I need it for sleep aid and to relieve hypnagogic hallucinations.
I have insomnia and sleep meds don't work for me so a full night of sleep isn't an option.
I hate the heat, I find it hard to sleep if it's hot at night it's the main reason I hate summer, I'm sleeping better than I was but my cycle's weird I usually go to sleep around half 3 in the morning
At the moment, poorly. For three reasons.
Almost two weeks ago I developed (very mild, thankfully) tinnitus after going to a show. Tinnitus is a long-term, omnipresent ringing in the ear. In my case, the right ear only. The venue had the PA turned up dangerously, obnoxiously, unnecessarily loud, but at the same time it was my own responsibility to wear ear plugs for protection and I didn't take the precautions I should have done. I've already become acclimated to it and now it doesn't disturb me during the day, but during the first few minutes of complete silence it does bother me a little. It's possible it'll never recover, which would really suck.
Aside from that, it's very difficult living with a housemate who likes the heating a lot hotter than the rest of us. As the weather gets warmer, it's become a constant battle to keep it cool enough to sleep comfortably. That bothers me more than the tinnitus thing, sleep-wise.
I'm also in the middle of my exam period, which is adding to me stress levels. I'm taking control of my workload though, which reduces the stress quite a lot.
