    No, but I want to.

Just from what I have read, I've gotten the gist of it... The issue that I've noticed is that many bullies are charismatic fucks who easily win the favor of school officials and adults over their bullied peers. The victims generally tend to be social outcasts of some sort and, for that reason, difficult for most school officials to relate to.

The school officials, however well meaning they may be, often have a hard time reacting appropriately to the situation and take it lightly so as not to "ruin" the life of a student who is bullying who may otherwise turn out to be a decent person later on in life. Subjecting a young student to hard punishment is a gamble. You risk embittering that student which makes them less likely to respect authority and more likely that they'll reoffend.

Obviously, the solution is to discourage the behavior while keeping relations between said students civil. Punishing a bully also risks the victim as the bully is going to react toward the victim. Find a balance, yes, punish serious offenders, yes but there is no clear cut way to do so.

If you want to raise your blood pressure, watch this documentary. I almost lost it when that principle or whatever the fuck she is asked the bullied child to shake hands with the bully. The bullied child actually got a stern talking-to while she let the bully go. Come on. You've got to be fucking kidding me. It's frustrating to see how apathetic school administrations are in regards to bullying. I have never seen so many adults blame children for being severely harassed by bullies. It's appalling to see children literally having their lives threatened and subjected to physical abuse by their classmates. The officials pictured in this film should really be ashamed of their disgusting and negligent behavior.

I never got bullied because I'm a foreigner and my parents told me to stand up for myself, even if it meant physically defending myself. So if anybody tried anything, I would gladly have kicked them in the crotch. Well, that's not the case with everyone. I always noticed that my American friends had parents that discouraged getting physical (which is understandable). But the thing with bullies is that they tend to get physical, not just verbal. So what is a kid supposed to do? I don't think children should have to worry about being physically assaulted, especially if they live in a well established or so-called free country. Schools need to step it up.

Awareness, early prevention, communication, teaching self-worth, implementing consequences such as expulsion, involving the law, hiring school administrators that actually acknowledge and deal with bullying, etc. Children obviously can't handle these situations alone. Parents and schools need to step in. If domestic violence isn't tolerated, why should physical harassment in school be ignored?

I'm not frustrated with the kids. Kids can be assholes and I get that. I'm frustrated with the adults. How many suicides need to occur for bullying to be taken seriously? How many kids need to bring a gun or knife to school for parents and school administrators to open their eyes? You gotta admit, this is getting out of control.
