Anyone ever notice the lack of hot girls on that show, what am spos to fap over walkers.
I liked him when he was his loudmouth hillbilly self. Half way through the show he went from badass hillbilly loudmouth that was awesome to silent biker that hits zombies in the same badass way.
...I like Daryl but all he has become now is candy for the female viewers, in my book. They changed him so much to the point of "yeah, he kicks ass, but that's all he does". I miss his older personality where he would cuss you out and be in your face yet still be a valuable member of the group, now he's just someone that kicks zombie ass, which was fine at the start but got boring so fast, and it's gotten to the point where I don't think he'll go back to his more entertaining self.
For me, Merle was the more entertaining of the two brothers, and I wish they kept him in the show. He had so much potential. He kicked ass, was cocky, a badass, and a pretty good redemption story could of been added to the show that would of made the last half of the previous season FAR more entertaining.
It's to the point where I would of prefered him dying for Merle to have a spot in the group. Daryl has become boring to the point where the only entertainment he brings to the show is during fight scenes.
He lost his unique personality and got a cliche "silent type" character role.
Oh I love talking to TWD fans, but I'm going to have to disagree with you a little bit. I think Daryl has become a much more interesting character- yes, he has lost the bristly hillbilly badassness, but that only made him one dimensional. The show has established a true character arc, explaining the reason why Daryl behaved the way he did- hinting at his childhood abuse, his relationship with his brother and family, the reasons why he related to Carol- all and all, they've made him into a more human character, while preserving his zombie killing awesomeness!
I do agree they are progressing his character in perhaps a realistic way, although not all realism is entertaining. I do think that although as he has developed through the story that his wys would change being depended on a lot more, but I don't think that would wash away almost all, if not all, of his initial persona.
Daryl was one of my favorites, however he has changed, which may make his story more of a change for the better, but his character itself go down a bit.
I still would of prefered it if Shane or Merle stayed alive in exchange for Daryl, though. Would of made an interesting change completely.
