The vast majority of Disney material is not original, I assume that the OP is enquiring about Disney's interpretations of the characters rather than the characters themselves.

  • i voted donald duck because of his fiery temper and how his nephews could run rings around him, so funny to see him in a fury, but the incredibles lived up to their name also

It's difficult to criticise a figure who, on the face of it, was behind so much well-meaning entertainment. But I'm going to do it anyway. Whether you believe me is largely a matter of your own judgement and intelligence.

Walt Disney was a nasty piece of work. Racist, fascist, anti-semite, a human being who subscribed to the ugliest tendencies we suffer. That's completely opposed to the worldview he offered as his own, but this is often the case, sometimes even accidentally (Hitler was a vegetarian, an artist and an animal lover).

Something unsettled me about Disney from the very beginning, just as it did with Michael Jackson. I feel very sorry indeed that Michael Jackson had the life that he did, but it's undeniable that he was a paedophile who had the money to bedazzle the parents of abused children and buy his way out of punishment.

This is not the society I wish to live in. I don't want racists and paedophiles running things just because they have the money to do so. Money isn't the factor here. Morality is. All I want is for people to think about someone else. Just once!

Failed vegetarian, Hitler was a failed vegetarian. Get your fucking facts straight before you tell me how the world should be.

sorry I didn't see this was from 5 years ago, haha, sorry.

Speaking of money, have you ever considered that's the reason why parents had their kids say Michael Jackson sexually assaulted them? To force him to "buy his way out of punishment"? Disregarding the little evidence there was, I don't claim to believe that he was innocent but it seems just as likely as the possibility that he did in fact touch them.

As for Walt Disney, consider the time and attitudes during his work instead of judging the past based on present-day morality. Morality isn't necessarily relative but it's asking a lot of a human to be a great creator as well as a forward-thinking symbol of morality. Not that people are incapable of being both but Walt Disney wasn't trying to run America, he was making entertainment.

The racists and pedophiles you refer to, while both deceased, were not "running things" during their time. The people running things are often the ones with money, however. It seems easy to point fingers but next time, you might find your energy better used pointing them into a mirror and trying to make yourself the best person you can be and change the world by example instead of reading an innocent opinion poll and telling everyone about the racism of Walt Disney. I respect your intentions but you may be able to convince people to think of others in a better manner.

      Just food for thought.

Thanks, even something as shiny as Disney casts a shadow. The things that lurk in the shadows of Disney are down right terrifying.
