I'm not saying who's the best musician, who WRITE'S their song's the best.

Lennon. Although I don't know how his songs wouldve turned out if he didn't smoke a shitload of weed beforehand
Little Richard, he wrote a lot of his own songs and played and sang them like no other artist before or since. Mick Jagger claimed Little Richard was king and talks about how awed he was at watching him perform. David Bowie, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Keith Richards and so many others all talk about how much they idolize him. Little Richard is definitely an awesome song writer and truly the architect of rock and roll!
Never ever heard of any of the folks mentioned above, who in the heck are they? and what type of "So-Called Music" do they play?
I would have to state that my two favourite song writers are and I know none of you have heard of him, but to me they are awesome:

David Bowie or Lennon/McCartney. Although sometimes you have to think a little outside the box and suggest Andrew Lloyd Webber/Tim Rice, Rodgers/Hammerstein, etc.

I adore the Beatles but for Lennon/Macca to get 18 more votes than Tom Waits is CRAZY!
