Who is more to blame in this situation?

Two people lived together and have young children. Partner No.1 explains they were late coming home from work and was preparing leftovers for dinner.

Upon hearing this, Partner No.2 got upset and angry. No.2 argued that as No.1 has a family to attend to, No.1 should ensure that they get home on time to make a proper meal.

Partner No.1 then became upset and began to yell at No.2. As No.1's anger heightened, they began to shout various obscenities at No.2, calling them a "nagging loser."

Partner No.1 then went into the kitchen to prepare dinner.

Partner No.2 followed No.1 into the kitchen and grabbed No.1 by the arm and slapped them, knocking No.1 to the floor. While No.1 lay on the floor, No.2 then kicked them several times in the abdomen. Partner No.2 subsequently left the house.
