In what regard? Socially? Politically? In what country? If we're talking about worldwide women clearly have it worse, in many countries they're still treated as property, go to jail for being raped or are forced to marry their rapist, are banned from education and are essentially second class citizens, if they even count as citizens at all.
If you're talking about Western society, that's a much more complex issue and I don't think it has a clear answer; men and women face different kinds of problems in this day and age and it's all too complicated; too many ideas dependant on other social factors, to give you a clear cut one or the other answer.
Men. There is still a lot of sexism and inequality around that affects women in many ways. That's not to say men don't have it hard in some ways, they do. But I believe that worldwide, on average, women have more challenges they have to face due to inequality. Not to mention that the majority have to deal with crazy hormonal cycles and stuff. One week you're fine, next week - almost depressed. But you have to fight on!
I think that we have it equally as bad for just being here. Life is hard on everyone.
Men. Even in western societies. Its a no brain-er.
Women are awesome, but I do not envy them at all. A woman's body facilitates the development of a fetus and then she births the child. Biologically speaking, the only role us men have in procreation is just busting a nut. I'm not a woman, but it would seem that the ability to conceive is a curse and a blessing. But regardless, its still a huge responsibility. And men in many societies have the audacity to tell her that she can't have any control over what goes on in her body.
Women are misunderstood and disrespected by patriarchal societies, even in the west. Also, I do not envy how women generally have higher estrogen and lower testosterone than men. Biochemically, women are designed to be more passive. Biologically, and socially, women have a much rougher time.
Gender is a topic that I'm sure we can talk about forever, but one thing seems pretty irrefutable, due to the fact that society makes it a reality- men have it better.
well i would like to say men, but i heard that some woman wanted to write a book on gender roles, so she spent 6 months living as a man, then went insane and killed herself. soooo, probably women.
That wouldn't… ok, look, even if that happened, that's not statistically significant. That is literally one data point.
Also, living as a cisgender man (a man who was born biologically male; in other words, a man who was born, heard "IT'S A BOY", and never disagreed) is very different and much easier than living as a trans*man, so the experiment wouldn't really work anyway.
but she was pretending to be a man. i know its still different but i think it has to do with how men are treated by other people.
Did that actually happen? Surely if that really happened she'd just stop the experiment instead of killing herself. It just seems so ridiculous that I need a source to believe it.
Women of course. They don't have to approach first and then be brutally rejected. They can choose whether they want to work or stay at home.
If you live in the West and are a gay black disabled asian women, you have it easiest. Because every employer will be clamoring to hire you to fill their 'diversity' quota and be seen to be an non discriminatory. These days, you can't look at an ethnic minority without them trying to call you a racist.
Depends, Women are treated as lower beings, and men aren't allowed to hit them because they're "too fragile"
It all depends on the situation. As a 20-year-old, I'm probably too young to answer. But if you asked, "Who has it better in the labor force?" I'd say women do.
If guys are ugly they can't do much about it, because people will think their gay. If a chicks ugly, it's sort of expected that she will do something about it. Personally, i wouldn't want to be a guy, imagine all the sweat and body hair, ugh! yuk!
All the social indicators of stress indicate that men have more stressful lives...men die sooner, men are more likely to have diseases, men are more likely to be victims of crime, men are more likely to be addicted to drugs and alcohol, men are more likely to die by suicide, to die by homicide, to die in war and violence of all kinds, to die in accidents or on the job, to be arrested, to go to jail and prison, to be homeless, to have mental illness....did you ever see a little boy and a little girl fall off their bikes.....the boy is told to stop crying and shake it off...the little girl is hugged and told it will be alright...well that same double standard permeates our society through and through...boys are given no emotional support in our society...while girls are coddled and told their special...not everyone of course...but in general it ismuch harder being male then female in society...why do you think the number of men who become women is 10 times the number of women who become men
I would vote men but i can't. With allthe shit going kn today , Demi Lovato and her gestapo, brainwashing people, and men are the victims because her and evil emperor Michael Eisner distract us with sex appeal such as Vanessa Hudgens' "leaked" nudes. Good gravy you all are blind as shit. Theyre fucking nazis
I'm a man and do we have to go through pregnancy our we treated as property no that my answer
It all depends on the situation. Men are better at some things, women are better at others.
