Whites cant make racist jokes but other races can?

all the time i see people crack ONE racist joke, mostly in good humor, and people go off on them about how wrong it is to make fun of blacks. i make fun of my asian indian and phillipino friends for being what they are, and they make fun of me for being what and we all find that okay and good. when my friends crack a black joke nobody gets angry. however i make one joke and so many people get angry telling me its so wrong to say that, and how im a racist. Is this normal to anybody?

I used to crack jokes all the time but have decided to stop. It's not so much being racist, its just reinforcing stereotypes. If you make a joke and someone laughs, good. If you make a joke and someone gets mad, well then you've got to understand that someone is gonna be offended. That's the risk you take.

Why can't a lesbian go on a diet and wear makeup at the same time?
Cause you can't eat Jenny Craig with Mary Kay on your face.

What do you call 50 lesbians and 50 politicians in a room?

100 people that don't do dick.

Jokes are jokes. People need to loosen up. I'm a lesbian with a political science degree...if it's a joke then I'm gonna laugh.

Sadly, it is normal... This is why I hang out with guys; they all love racist jokes. I am white and if I even point out something racial around my girl friends, all of whom are black or Mexican, I am accused of being racist. Yet they can crack jokes about how pale I am...? It's not fair..make some new friends, luv.

it's all about the context for the joke.

White people are the well-off majority in the world. They've kind of fucked themselves over by being so racist in the past.

It pisses me off, but in history, white people have been more dickhead-ish towards other races. It's gonna be a while before we can crack racist-jokes in front of other races again. :P

It can be difficult. I don't personally want to live in a world where we can't make fun of our differences. But nor do I want to live in a world that practices slavery. There's a middle ground somewhere. The tricky thing is that your middle ground may not be someone else's middle ground.

Why are there no black astronauts?
Because their lips explode at 50,000 feet.

    Thankyou and goodnight.

I actually agree with you on this. I've always had a risky humor and also enjoy making a few jokes from time to time about race, as long as it's in good humor.

I used to go to a school where racism was an actual big deal. Not in the sense that kids were against racism, but the kids were actually racist towards Black people, Asian people, and Gays. I was the ONLY person to stand up for these people among the actual racists.

To my friends of varied races, we would all crack jokes about these sort of things happily and it was no big deal.

I think that as long as there is no actual hate in your heart, and your just generally making a joke about something or someone, it shouldn't be seen as wrong.

In a way, it's kind of fucked up not to joke about these things. Joking back in forth about these issues is what makes equality what it is. Putting one race on a protective pedestal to keep them from getting there feelings hurt is putting them farther from yourself/your race rather than closer.

  • It all started with the POLACK jokes back in the early 1970's

    Racist jokes are funny.
People need to grow up the fuck up tbh.

Yeah, it's kind of a double standard. For instance, there is the black entertainment network (BET), and that's fine, but if there was a WHITE entertainment network, wouldn't THAT be considered racist? Aren't we all supposed to be equal???

we arent so uptight about things like that and make jokes about it all the time. we are very multicultural and every race makes fun of other races, not just white folk. whats the point in hating on other people for a joke? its people who cant take a joke that are racist.
