White people are starting to pull the race card

So I've seen many instances where blacks were pulling the race card. Now it seems like just the opposite is happening. Now it looks like a lot more white people are pulling the race card and claiming that things are racist against them. Have you noticed this?

Yes I've seen this happening more 13
I've seen this a little bit 10
No I haven't seen this happen 12

I don't think it is new but I think this issue of racism is done.

I can almost guarantee you that if no one breathed a word of racism or any difference between people due to gender, race, ethnicity and so forth to the next generation of people born from this moment on, no one would even know that you CAN discriminate against others for such stupid reasons.

I say this because the majority (and by majority, I mean all but one) of the students who I work with are considered minorities (black, hispanic...) and when the issues of racism came up during black history month, none of them were even really aware of what it was or what it meant. It was news to a lot of them. And these are kids who have been arrested and put in jail. By cops. And they were almost clueless to the concept that their race may have had anything to do with how they were treated.

So everybody stfu. They won't know.

    • I'm sorry but this is an extremely ignorant comment. Your narrow views are based on your experiences with the people around you but you are unaware that racism is still a big problem. A lot of whites don't have to deal with it much so it's easy to see how a white person would believe that there is little to no issue. But I promise you, it is not "done".

Then you completely missed the point of my comment. Racial differences are socially constructed and taught. No one is born with this knowledge. Discontinue teaching it and the racism will die out. I grew up as a minority in an asian country and I didn't even know that whites and other races were different until I was bullied for being white when I moved back to the states. Had that not happened, I'd have remained blissfully unaware.

        • People can stop talking about it but institutionalized racism is still a problem.

Institutionalized racism is a byproduct of social racism and if you remove the social racism as a factor, institutionalized racism will follow. It would have to. You'd have a society full of people who don't follow the concept that skin color accounts for any real differences so when they happen upon racist policies, the nonsensical nature of said policies would make them unenforcable.

Look at the issue of gay marriage for the millenial generation. The post-1990's and post-2000's generation, outside of the more conservative areas of the US, grew up in a culture where homosexuality and gender fluidity were becoming acceptable and even normal. It literally makes no sense to a lot of young people who grew up in areas (like the one I live in now) where homosexuality in public wasn't taboo as to why gay marriage is illegal. They want it to be legal simply because the discrimination makes no sense to them - they weren't taught that it was a sin or a crime against nature.

I'm not saying racism isn't a thing or isn't a problem. I'm saying that VALIDATING it is going to keep it alive. If it's not taught, if it's not validated, it's not going to be taken seriously because racism makes no sense to begin with.

Over time, the U.S. has a smaller perecentage of white people compared to other people. White people did not feel any racial self-consciousness when they were a massive majority, as ethnic portions shift, white people are feeling more aware of being "white" as opposed to the archaic feeling of being "normal" compared to others. Also other people are starting to say "White people this..." and "White people that...".
This isn't good or bad. This is just inevitable.

White people will never struggle with racial inequality like any other race has. I say this as a white person. There is no "reverse racism". When white people have been lynched and slaughtered and put on post cards, when white people are stolen from their home countries, sent to foreign lands and made to work themselves to death for free, then I'll agree with "reverse racism". If I were ever called a honky or a cracker it wouldn't even make me flinch. There is no comparison. At all.

    • Whites were lynched in the past and continue to regularly fall victim to violent hate crimes. Furthermore, all races of people have been enslaved.

      History: learn it.

Whites were lynched when they were sympathetic with the black struggle. White people will never understand the institutionalized racism the black community still fights against to this day. The present: Learn it.

        • All types of people were lynched all throughout history for every reason imaginable.

Whites will never understand institutionalized racism? Have you ever heard of affirmative action? Hush crimes? Forced multiculturalism? The fallacious concept of White privilege?

        • White people don't owe black people anything. If black people wish to defeat "institutionalized racism" (that's hilarious btw) than they should pick themselves up and take advantage of the multitude of programs available to improve their quality of life. But that's just too much work isn't it?

Reality : Get a dose of it.

hate to burst ya bubble but during the victorian period, millions of WHITE men, women and children were subjected to forced labour in the work house. So don't even , bish.

Forced labor? And who exactly was forcing these white people to performed forced labor...? Was it rich, upper class black people? Oh right, it was other rich white people who wanted to benefit off the poor white people. Way to completely miss the point.

As I said before, the first people to own black slaves were the richer black people. If you want to argue that we should "pay" because we're a different race than them then why aren't the egyptians still "paying" for all the work the jews did for them? And it's pretty much tabboo to MENTION THE WAR ;) If you wanna feel sorry for someone, feel sorry for the jews lol

I never once said anything about "paying" so I don't know why you're using it in quotations and attributing it to me. That's called a logical fallacy/strawman. I feel sorry for anyone who was subject to inhumane treatment due to their race/ethnicity. But there are some racial groups that have experienced, and still experience, worse forms of racism than someone calling me a "honky". I'm not talking a thousand years ago, I'm talking about today. Where some towns in the USA have hung up nooses and written "go home nigger" in the neighborhoods and houses where African Americans live and where you're 15x more likely to be frisked, stopped and harassed by police because you have dark colored skin.

I see black racists every day and it seems to be a growing trend. I guess they figure they are impervious to be outed as being racists against white people because they deserve special treatment because of past racism against their own. There are racist hispanics, racist chinese, etc its endless. Stop whining about it.

What do you mean by "racist shit": racism or people pointing it out? Racism itself has existed for hundreds of years, if that's what you mean

      • As a white person I feel thoroughly disgusted by my own race. I feel we have to answer for the injustices that the black man has faced and I feel overwhelmingly guilty that slavery existed.

White people should be required to work and black people shouldn't be, and that's the plain truth of it.

I don't see the point of feeling guilty about something you had nothing to do with.

I'm sure you could find some black woman with small kids who could use some free childcare or cleaning if you really believe in your last sentence
