Like with most other measurements, metric is better because it's all based on powers of 10 and is consistent across the board. I wish the United States would use it like the rest of the world does. Previous efforts to convert entirely to metric have failed here, because we're all too damn accustomed to the imperial system. If you express a distance in kilometers, for example, people always want to know what it is in miles. I'm familiar enough with metric units that they can stand on their own in my head without having to convert them.

To address the question that was posed here, a ten-degree change in Celsius is more meaningful than it is in Fahrenheit, because it represents a greater temperature differential.

I prefer Fahrenheit, but I'm an American, that's what I'm used to here.
