Which is worse, a very stubborn person who never cuts their losses or realizes that sometimes you just have to give up, or a total pushover who is submissive to the will of others and never sees things through?

a total pushover is worse imo because they could change the way they act into something good or bad. the bad part is something people may fear, hate, or love. it depends on the person really but for it to be the worst thing ever is to become manipulative and turn everybody else into a pushover.
the pushover could become a sociopath to get everything that person wants in life but what they need is something they would keep a secret from everyone so they wont show any weaknesses
or the pushover could keep being a pushover and eventually either stand up for themselves or kill themselves. possibility
Stubborn people make me want to rip their hair out.
I don't usually have issues w. Pushovers, so I guess they don't bug me as much.
Stubborn people are the ones who fight and claw their way to the top, who become successful, who create new inventions or make scientific breakthroughs because they didn't give up. Thomas Edison failed thousands of times before inventing the light bulb. Someone who was a whiney, flaky pushover type would never have continued after that many failed attempts. Therefore I much prefer someone who's stubborn.
A pushover is willing to admit that they are wrong sometimes, but a stubbon person will fly in the face of even the hardest evidence, even if they know they are wrong.
Pushovers are annoying, being submissive is okay but having no backbone is just sad, pushovers make become dominant and then I make them make choices. I already don't know what I want, but if I'm the submissive one and I have more of a backbone than you, we have a problem.
I think the stubborn person is worse. They refuse to change or admit any wrong. They sometimes stand behind very intolerant views and by doing so hurt others.
At least a pushover knows (usually) that they're a pushover and should change. Many times, pushovers DO change. Can't say the same for too many very stubborn people.
underneath the stbborn is the pushover and the reverse is true, so they are both the same, but a smartass is the worst :)
Personally I would not associate with anyone who is a complete push over or someone who is as stubborn as they could possibly be.
I want someone who takes initiative and who is also flexible.
