I don't eat rice, corn, pasta, bread (including breaded foods) or potatoes so I can't say I'd choose any of them. If I had to, I'd pick #5.

    • Why no rice, corn, pasta, or bread? Just curious.

I don't see how grains have any place in a healthy diet. We just don't need them, in fact they can be toxic and block nutrient absorbtion. I think the carb-heavy diet most Americans eat is the cause of the obesity and type 2 diabetes epidemic, and is probably a cause of several other diseases.

Most grains we consume are heavily processed, like corn and wheat. That crap is terrible! But even whole grains are still not really what humans need to survive and definitely not needed to thrive. If you drop meat or vegetables from your diet, you must make up for the nutrient losses somehow or you'll die or be in very poor health but dropping grains requires no adjustment. They're just garbage....filler....that cause a lot of harm.

I avoid all grains, processed sugars and starchy vegetables. Few people realize that eating a potato is basically like eating a heaping serving of white sugar. So is corn, even in its purest form. I eat meat, fruit, veggies, nuts and very little dairy. This stuff is what humans are designed to run on. Fats are way better to eat than starchy or processed sugar carbs.

        • Neat. Thanks for the answer. Sounds a bit like how northern traditional people would eat. Lots of fat, no carbs or sugar. They tend to have a hard time with western food actually, The Inuit for example tend to have higher rates of diabetes. What's neat is they even got vitamin D from their diet, as they would eat the whole animal and not just the muscles. Need it up where there isn't much sunlight.

I mainly live on whole grains actually. Very few veggies and I don't eat meat. Feel a lot better since I've given up meat. Didn't really enjoy the taste either. I find starchy foods suit me best. There are lots of suitable ways to eat, do whatever feels best.

Ugh...it's the "once a day" that's really getting me, but I'm leaning toward meal 3.
