Which is worse? below 0 degrees or above 100 degrees and very hot?

I’d say I’d take the cold weather because if it gets too cold you can just add more layers of clothes on. If it gets too hot, you can’t take off any layers of your skin or anything??

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Depends on whether you're talking Celsius or Fahrenheit.

0F/-17.778C is extremely low. Idk how long that'd take to kill you.

212F/100C, you'd die pretty quickly even significantly below that without protective gear, I imagine.

It's 33C/91.4F where I am right now, and it's fucking unpleasant. Particularly when this is merely midrange of a heatwave.

Might we ask where abouts you are? Here in good ol Indiana, it is like 23 degrees F right now, a little chilly.

Thing is they talk about stripping clothing layers in hot weather but even if someone were to run about bare ass naked, there is still humidity to deal with. Humidity is what makes it miserable.

        And the humidity is fucked.

          Ahh alright.
Hey while I have you on the line, I have kind of a silly question -
Those "gimpie" trees or plants, in places where those are or are likely to be, do they block it off or have some kind of signs warning people about it? I know that sounds weird but someone could unknowingly run into that having no idea what it was. Do they even grow in places where humans would roam normally?

I think the worst we have in most of the USA is poison ivy and even that isn't real bad.

No clue, never heard of them. Googled it. They're nowhere near anywhere I've ever lived. Queensland has all manner of evil flora and fauna.

I suggest you google it if it interests you. It doesn't interest me and it's too hot for me to give a fuck.

I haven't had poison ivy. The fire ants were awful, though. As was the spider bite. Fuckin America. Haha. Worst I've had in Aus was a bee sting. And some evil sunburn/heatstroke.

Honestly, most of the "deadly" Aus stuff, you have to go fuck with shit to get hurt by it. Not all, but a good deal of it.

Just one of my random youtubing nights I came across videos of most horrifying plants/animals/bugs/whatever.

I know Aus is huge but i guess it is just kind of strange to hear about it having some of the deadliest things. I just didn't know if certain things like that plant were an epidemic.

America's most dangerous stuff is usually criminal areas.

I pick heat over cold. When it's very cold, under -17C it's awful. You have to wear lots of clothes, you have to have a scarf, your nostrils stick when you breathe. It's very unpleasant.
You have to have the heater on full. For cars it's even worse, cause most cars require a good 20 minutes to warm up. If your commute is less than that, you are gonna be cold and put a lot of wear and tear on your car.

Heat however... You just turn up the AC... If you are at home - more AC. If you are at work - more AC. In your car - more AC. Even if it's 43C (hottest it's been in my town in Bulgaria), with the AC on, temperatures will drop within a few minutes. And you can drink stupidly cold drinks. You can't burn your tongue on a cold drink now can 'ya?

If you don't have AC - you're fucked. Book a vacation somewhere cooler XD

I'm not a fan of hot dry weather.

I would prefer cold for a few reasons - Cold is easier to escape, you don;t have as many critters or riff raff out and about, and there is no humidity problems in cold.

Sometimes when I am feeling real cynical, I often think, "Well at least the weather cannot be freezing AND burning up at the same time!"

I’m from the north as well, I can’t handle wet heat that well but if it’s dry heat I can take it.

  • Hmm. Hot weather methinks. I hate being cold and my natural dress style is shorts and t-shirt. Where I live it's hot and dry in summer and that suits me very well.

Under 0 degrees. During summer if it's hot you can still do stuff and go outside but you can't if it's below freezing and snow and wind is blowing in your face.

the cold fucks my nose up, prefer 25-30 degrees c

  • Cold weather feels worse, but hot weather is embarrassing because it makes me sweat. I also hate how in summer, I can literally feel the sun burning my skin in the afternoon.

I prefer to wear longsleeves and long pants, but that's somewhat odd and uncomfortable in hot weather.

I prefer hot weather in private, and cold weather in public.

As much as I like hot weather, I'll take the cold. I burn in the sun way too easy. XD

  • I’d rather the cold since you can stay indoors, but with the heat you could stay indoors too.

Personally I find it easier to get warm in cold weather than cool in very hot weather, especially as I don't have air conditioning but I do have a very efficient wood heater and lots of warm clothing.

It was over 40C here yesterday, over 100F, and I kept cool by going to my daughter's place as she has aircon.
