I think overweight is healthier, because at least your body can use the excess fat for nutrition.. If you're underweight, you're probably malnourished and have no reserves to draw nutrition from.
Actually, underweight is more unhealthy. Underweight people die on average, 4 years before overweight people. If overweight is referring to obese though, that's when it becomes a bigger risk.
So this is basically it:
Underweight - least healthy
Obese - equally as bad as underweight
Overweight - fine, slight risks but nothing serious
Normal weight - same as overweight
You will have to quantify the problem. Use BMI (Body Mass Index). High BMI with no exercise = Diabetes. Diabetics are always sick but never die. The treatment cost is swamping the health care system of the US.
Kind of pathetic, but we need a sugar tax because the liberals are making everyone pay for fat people's bad habits.
To me, "dangerously" means it's so bad either way that which is worse hardly really matters. That said, I'd expect someone who was dangerously underweight and didn't do anything about it to die sooner than someone who was dangerously overweight and didn't do anything about it.
Underweight people because they have more health risks than overweight and obese people (morbid not included).

My cousin died at age 33 from an attack on her weak immune system. The doctors kept telling her that her body was weak, needed more nutrients and that she needed to gain but she refused and she died. They said if she had eaten more of certain foods, she would still be alive. It hurts to think about.
Statistically speaking, overweight people outlive normal weight, underweight and obese people by several years.
Underweight people die a lot earlier and because they are malnourished, they lack nutrients and are more likely to die if they are in an impact injury such as a car crash as they have no fat to protect their organs/bones.
I think overweight is actually healthier, because a minimum of your body can use of your cholesterol for nutrition. If you are underweight, you're probably undernourished and have no supplies to draw nutrition from.
I was the first one to vote for "not sure".
Everyone else knows the answer to this question for sure. Alright then.
I was watching television where there was a program on a young girl who was overweight and another woman who had nine children and I was wondering which situation was worst. :/ If I had to choose between the two I would prefer to be underweight because I think it's mush easier to go back to a healthy state.
Underweight is worse in my opinion, even when compared to obesity, since it seems to carry more mental and emotional issues along with the malnutrition and susceptibility to death from the slightest bump.
I'd rather go obese, since at least I get to eat lots of food.
Underweight is worse in my opinion because your body doesn't have enough fat stored to function on. When you have no fat, you end up burning muscle with exercise.
