Which is correct, making the world a better place or serving myself?

What I mean by this, is not doing good works...but selling out my world voice for my own self serving reasons? Truth is, I would sell out if I could but I don't know how...lol...truth is, it is probably much easier, more fun, and much less work to speak my mind than to make my self serving dream world a reality...of course if my world dream world became a reality, I would like that as well. My world dream world would become a reality by changes in laws and legislation that pertain to my own interests but which I think would also greatly improve the quality of life for anyone... I'm listening to Peter Tosh..Equal Rights....and I really dig it a lot!!! Personally, I think I like his sound, and probably his lyrics a whole lot more than Bob Marley's...

    I prefer to do things for myself not because it is "much easier, more fun, and much less work," but because I come first and foremost. If there is something that I see wrong with world that’s inflicting with me being myself or my human rights I’ll fight it; and if I so happen to help out other people in the process then that'll just be a bonus.
