Which is better: sleep or lay awake in morning

Which is better to do to help you feel most rested during the day. Waking up before you have to get ready for school/work or setting an extra alarm 30 minutes before and just laying there being comfortable?

Sleep the extra 30 minutes 22
Relax, awake 30 minutes 31

Sleep is the best thing... it's basically a miracle. However shitty your life is, there's always sleep and even dreams! I suspect that one day technology will be advanced to stop prisoners from dreaming. It seems amazing and almost scandalous that even hardened murderers are able to potentially escape the confines of their cells each night to the freedom of sleep and dreams - living it up on a desert paradise; exploring lost cities; having fun with family and friends!! :o

I usually crawl out of bed and hate my life when I'm half asleep and have to get ready for work, with or without the 30 minutes of whatever I choose. But I notice when I get up and spend a little time cleaning or doing something productive, I feel more awake throughout the day than I would if I had laid in bed longer.

I wish I could lie in bed for 30 minutes to relax. Rationally that is the better choice. But rationality goes out the window when you're half asleep, so I choose to sleep the extra 30.

If I need to be at work I will set my alarm to when I need to get up and be straight out of bed. But if it's my day off then I can quite happily lay there for an hour.
