Back in my day we had no text or call or facetime or in person

We would release chemicals and proteins in interstitial fluid that would get picked up by the receptors attached on other cells all floating in the ocean billions of years ago. Was the realest way to get to know a person I tell ya

For sending a quick message, text.

    But for a conversation, call.

text are ok, but you cannot see any facial expressions which add to the words spoken my preference is face to face, you get so much more out of it.

Which is best depends on with whom I'm communicating.

I hate calls and I hate facetiming. I am only okay with text, I can make rare exceptions if necessary.

Texting, or chatting is very annoying and requires your full attention. You gotta jab away at that touchscreen.

A call on whatsapp, messenger, or whatever is more convenient, because you can do something while you talk. Browse the internet, cook a meal, hang clothes to dry, drive home, drink a beer on the balcony, whatever...

And facetime is only good if you wanna see someone close, but you're too far away to meet IRL. I do video calls with my parents every day, cause they are 2000km away. But I wouldn't facetime someone I can meet in real life over a few drinks.

I have never FaceTimed, but prefer a phone call over text. It seems much more personal and I much prefer having actual conversations over a call rather than writing huge walls of text to each other (though I already do that a lot here, lol). Texting is fine for quick notes, questions, or reminders, but for lengthy conversations, I much prefer to just call.

I also like to call since when I'm in the car, I have Bluetooth and can talk hands-free. What really gets on my nerves is when someone who knows I'm on the road decides to text me, and if I try to call them, they refuse to answer it and just text me back (even after I've already told them I do not answer texts on the road). Lo and behold, like clockwork they always seem to be peeved they don't get an immediate response, too. Like, I'm not going to get into a wreck just because you'd "prefer" to text, or are too lazy or antisocial to answer your damn phone!

    • I agree that calling is superior, you can actually do other things while talking, you don't have to look at your phone.

I can shoot out a text faster than making a call. i can also text when i'm busy at work without anyone really noticing but i can't make a phonecall or facetime.
