Which gender is better at life?

Well, this question doesn't invite generalizations at all.

I think both genders have really fucked this world up as it pertains to our survival as a species.

Neither, "better" is a subjective term that can't be measured. What I think is better is not what others think is better. Men and women are both successful because they are successful, not because of their gender.

My opinion, it doesn't matter what gender that person in general is. It depends on that person skills on handling life regardless of genders. As long as that person is good at handling life, he/she is good to go whether a male or female.

As far as being assholes- both.

I'd say different in areas but equal overall. Each have strengths and weaknesses. And one gender's weakness is often the other's strength. Nature at work, giving another reason make us want to coexist and couple-up.

I was about to say that men handle difficult situations better than women, yet men in their middle-age stands for a high number of the suicide rate.

Each has its benefits. For every positive male only trait there seems to be a positive female only trait. For example...Males can pee standing up damn near anywhere, women can have multiple orgasms. Males don't have a menstrual cycle , women can find someone for sex just about anytime. Males get paid more for doing the same job, females can get men to pay for everything. You get the point.

Women are like creepers. Say one offensive thing and they explode. Men are like zombies. It takes a couple of hits to kill them and they follow you areound like the creepy people they are. Eitherway they keep comming from every direction and as long as you can veed yourself and not jump off a really high cliff (in hopes that you might be able to fly) then humanity will eventually be the cause of death.

I think life is generally easier for women due to the options women have which another user said here. Generally men are expected to work and aren't nearly as able to find someone who would provide for them like women are able to have done for them in life.

However men are also more likely to commit suicide.
