Sappir's quite a nice name but I'm very partial to Amy so I went with that one. For some reason, I tend to like most names that begin with A, C, J and S.
I've never seen the name Sappir before, so I chose that. I think it's pretty. I see Amy a lot everywhere.
Amy is a very normal name, Sapphir is not. Although when i look at it - i WANT to pronounce it as Sapphire - without an "e".
"Sappir" (pronounced as Sapphire) with out an e sounds very pretty for a girl. Im interested in knowing how you would plan to have it pronounced.
I would have to say Amy simply for the fact that I wouldn't have the first clue on how to pronounce Sappir.
some people call me Amy for short and i got a cousin named Shafir. so...... i dont pick up both :P
Sappers are combat engineers, so when I see the name "Sappir," I think either of someone who handles land mines or of someone who bops someone over the head with a billy club, neither of which sound particularly like a good name.
Also, think about whether she'll want to spend the rest of her life saying, "No, with an 'i.' No, there's no 'h.' No, 'p-p.'" Don't make a child go through that.
However, if you're naming a hamster, knock yourself out; a hamster will never have to spell her name in class.
I initially thought exactly the same thing because I know someone who used to be a sapper.
I'm actually not naming anyone, lol.
These are the names of two very close friends of mine, and they wanted me to make this because they were curious to know what people thought of their names.
Especially Sappir; that is a strongly Jewish name.
