Great question! Of your list, all of them please! If I had to choose just one, though? Ian Curtis was from my neck of the woods and we feel his loss particularly here, even though it was a long time ago. Same for John Lennon, also roughly from my next of the woods (well, 35 miles away, anyway). My heart is saying Kurt Cobain, though.
If it's someone not on the list then Mozart, Chopin, the Gershwins, Janis Joplin, Nico, but probably Mozart.
(other) The Beatles. just cuz they where awsome (idc if you want me to only pick one of them im picking all of em!)
Randy Rhoads or Chuck Schuldiner, for they were Gods
Pete Steele for he was human
Kurt Cobain all the way something about his voice always mesmerized me :)
Jimi Hendrix, because he only got 4 years to be exposed to the mainstream media, before dying so young, yet was able to make so much of an impact, finding new styles and ways to manipulate a guitars sound, and gain the title of one of the best, if not the best, electric guitarists of all time. He needs more time to share his gift with us all.
Kurt Cobain would have some interesting things to say about the modern world, I'm sure, but so would John Lennon. And Jimi was such a great musician, it would have been great to see how he matured and how his style changed over time (but, once again, the same can be applied for Lennon as he continued to create new types of music). Would we have ever seen a Beatles if John hadn't died? Maybe, who knows?
I'm going for Kurt, but it's such a difficult choice. So many dead legends :(
I would have gone with Kurt, but if you look at it, Nirvana was bound to break up eventually. Granted he had some pretty interesting views about sensationalism in the music industry, but I don't think he would have been popular enough to express them since I'm sure Nirvana would have broken up.
John Lennon however is bigger than Cobain and I think that due to his popularity he would've been better able to spread his message to the world.
yeah, RIP. It is very hard to choose. I'm a massive Nirvana fan but it makes me wonder how someone who commited suicide would react to then being brought back to life, they may not be grateful! Then again my own choice was Ian Curtis, who went the same way. Its easy to get sad about all the dead legends but I'm eternally happy and grateful of how their legacies have enhanced my life and the world itself.
I can't vote on my own post, so I'm going to leave a comment with which one I'd personally pick. Ian Curtis, as he died before he could see the impact his music would have and how truly influential and revolutionary his body of work was. I'd like for him to see that, as he had such an unhappy life.
Ooh, I like this question! I guess I'd want to bring back someone who didn't want to go, and who was murdered or something. Although, I'd mainly just be selfish. Kurt Cobain and John Lennon both stood out to me. Bob Marley too. Although I like Jim Morrison, I wouldn't choose him.
Not on your list, but maybe Jimi Hendrix. Hmm, John Lennon? Yeah, probably him, actually. I'm going to have a think about it and if I change my mind I'll come back. I like posts like this:D!
Ooh! I just had an idea, although I'm not entirely sure about it. I was thinking about all the dead musicians that I like and then realised that I love classical music and how many great composers there would be to choose from! Surely composers count, right?
How cool would it be bringing someone who made fantastic classical music centuries ago Bach to life?:P Oh God, that was just the worst joke ever, hehe! I'm sorry.:P So yeah, maybe someone like that. Although, maybe it's not a good idea making people live in a society so different to the one they lived in. Maybe I'm just being picky about that part, though.
Haha I love your enthusiasm and humour :) it was an open question i just provided some options so if u select other you have the freedom to choose. Hmm yeah bringing Bach back... Yeah he may be a little puzzled when he hears bieber for the first time!
Fudge! I have just this moment remembered Freddie Mercury (guess who I'm listening to as I type this, ha:P?) Damn it, this is hard!
Oh, and thanks.:)
Yeah, I love Freddie Mercury. I've been thinking about a few of the people who I wouldn't chose, but who others would probably like. Some really popular people, like Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G and even Michael Jackson. I like the first 2, but wouldn't chose them (not keen on Jackson, but others are). Just felt like they were popular choices and worth a mention. Although, that said, I'm now thinking of loads who are worth a mention! I think every genre has some.
Ack, and I just remembered Marc Bolan, who's music my Dad is playing downstairs. Damn, I'm forgetting everyone!:P
Entire time I was reading this post and the comments I was wondering when the fuck anyone was going to mention Hendrix THANK YOU!
Jeff Buckley. Even zombie Jeff Buckley would be much better than the crap they produce nowadays.
Bob Marley. Dad will love that and so will I. Whenever I was in the car with my family and it was raining on themside windows, we called it Bob Marley hair.
Schubert because he only lived to 31 and was a great composer who had more to give.
Or Jason Becker (isn't dead), a great guitar player who fell victim to a muscular disease leaving him unable to play at a very young age.
Michael Jackson and Tose Proeski. both were socially nice. their voices were OUT OF WORLD. maestro! no need to doubt!
I'm actually counting on meeting all of these guys(and probably some more) in hell, when I die. So no, I wouldn't bring them back.

I don't know what happened, but I put in two edits in the above post. They were there, but have now mysteriously disappeared.
Under 'Jim Morrison', beneath the video was, "Break On Through (To the Other Side)."
Under 'Bob Marley', beneath the video was, "Redemption Song."
