    I don't donate to charities as the majority of them are just businesses and you're paying for their staff wages and overheads.

    I like to donate directly to the source.

    The Red Cross. They help all over the world and have one of the highest ratios of donations in to aid out.

        Japan is killing whales and they are selling the meat commercially, ignoring an international ban on whaling.
        They also kill dolphins and porpoises for the meat.
        If the US boycotted all Japanese products and banned exports to the country for a measly 30 days, all that would end, immediately.

            Well, I guess that's a question you'll have to answer for yourself.
            But government sanctioned slaughter of animals that the international community considers an endangered species, for monetary gain, seems a national misdeed to me.

    Realistically, it would probably go the the green_boogers personal indulgence fund. If not, then "Bed nets for Africa" because the return on investment is staggeringly high.

    I will never donate cash to a charity. I would much rather take that money, buy animal food and donate the food to animal shelters

    either my local soup kitchen or the SPCA

    tough choice I got a soft spot for animals. at the same time I have worked at my local soup kitchen and the people who run it are excellent people and do a lot of good for those less fortunate.
