You might as well split "southern" into each state. My accent is completely different from a Georgian accent, which is different from Kentucky. But I guess, unless you live in the region, it won't matter much LOL.

And Italian is on there twice.

    • Also the same should be done for "Asian" accents. Korean people would be insulted if you were to say they sounded just like Chinese people, and vise versa.

Yeah every state in the south has a unique dialect but it's all generally the same for someone who doesn't have the accent or for someone who isn't around it a lot. I know I didn't know the difference before I moved down south.

Yes! Don't you hate it when you see movies or tv shows with southern characters, but the actors aren't from the south and just do sort of a generic accent that nobody uses? The Walking Dead is full of that shit. Everybody is from like Sourth Virkengeorexasbamalina.

LOL no kidding! I was watching NCIS once, they had this girl "from West Virginia" wearing daisy dukes and a cowboy hat, and I'm thinking "she sounds like Paula Dean, not a WV redneck."

This poll has already been done:

    http://isitnormal.com/poll/what-accent-do-you-find-the-most-attractive-106902/

It has better options in my opinion (less US-centric) :)

Well... you have New York and Boston as options (only 200 miles away from each other in the same corner of the same country).

Yet put Asian as an option (Asia is a continent with 4 BILLION inhabitants stretching 17,212,000 sq miles squared) and African as an option (Africa is a continent with 1 BILLION inhabitants stretching 11,668,599 sq miles).

I just think the other poll is more even. No hard feelings meant.

I dont really care, it probably is. I don't inspect every poll before I post my own. This is for my benefit and I am satisfied with the results and the options, so that's all that matters to me.

They don't all say it that way, you know. Canada's a big place. Buckley says "abowt," and I don't know about other regions.

            • I realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom with the Weather.

British accents are pretty cool, but I have to say Buckley is awesome...I'll go for British and Canadian. I hate the way people talk where I live, though. They'll go "potatas" and I'll be thinking, we don't live THAT far south! They can't even say my name correctly.

I grew up around my Aunt Rosalind and her British husband who had an upper class accent. Not only did my brother and I think his accent was cool, he also used quaint phrases like, "To be sure..."

Of the American accents, I like north eastern accents best. Of the British accents, pretty much anything northern. Of the rest of the world, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Russian, South African, Aussie, Kiwi, Japanese, and Welsh.

English. It's the smoothest and most enjoyable to listen to. Not ALL English accents, I'm very picky on which ones I truly enjoy.

French and Italian are a little too much for me and Scottish can get kind of annoying after a bit. I don't like most U.S. accents and I find mine the most tolerable. North West U.S., New York, and Philly accents get on my nerves. I could never live in any of those areas for fear of catching their dialect. Haha.

What about Irish on your list?

I love the way british people speak english. But I really don't like how native english speakers speak german. However if I have to choose my favorite english it's deffenetly british. I wish I could talk like that. Sadly, since I learned your language mostly from movies and the internet my english sounds very american.
