Which 20th century time period would you want to live in

The idyllic side of 1930's Germany seems interesting to me, except for the whole Nazi part.

An exotic British colony, 1900s 6
The Roaring 20s, America 11
Nazi Germany 8
1960s Britain 13
Vietnam era America 3
1980s Japan 4
1990s 'Cool Britannia' England 11

People romanticise the past too much and it makes me uncomfortable. We live in the most tolerant culture in human history, and we have the best science and medicine and scientific understanding ever. The present is great; flawed but less flawed than the past. If I'm going into the past then I'll go as recent as possible, please.

      This.
Time travel sounds lovely, however, being unable to hold a job, be friends with an African American without drawing disgust or being free of measles and polio are HUGE drawbacks that I'm happy to live freely of. If anything, I think I'd like to see the 22nd century.

I'm not white so I'd probably die if I was in America. Also after playing Bioshock Infinite I have a good grasp at how rampant racism was back in the days. If anything, I can't speak German or Japanese so I'm with 1990s Britain.

Hmm I guess I would like to try out Japan in the 80's lol I think I would be treated much better there than in America during the Roaring 20's!

The 20's seem fun despite the racism and sexism that goes with that period I'd like to spend maybe a month there because I couldn't stand all the whites and blacks us and them crap. But dancing in speakeasy's sounds like a grand old time!

I would like to endure the swinging 60's in the bight neon lights of London. Too bad the only thing that would be swinging is my left hand :(

But on a serious note, I want to see what caused the sudden contrast of the "Civilised" 50s to the free going 60s it intrigues me.

Right... what if you're a minority? Lawd knows you wouldn't want to live in any other era preceding the 90's. Even then things were bad.

I'm very fond of both the "Roaring 20's" and Nazi Germany. I am part Caucasian but I do not fit that Aryan race profile. So, if I was the 1920's of America I'd have to deal with a lot of racism and if I where in Germany during WW2, Heaven Forbid, I would either be killed or fighting on the Allied side. That being said, I'm torn between "1960's Britain" and "1980's Japan".... Then again, I might as well go with "Cool Britannia". I was born in the 90's but I barely remember anything, its mostly one huge blank. If I got to live as a somewhat older person during that whole decade, then I would be able to remember and enjoy it.

Nazi Germany. I fit the whole "Aryan" profile so it would be interesting to see how I would be treated and whether I would really have to live in fear.
