I usually have low confidence in my abilities but cooking is the one case where that's not true, both my parents went to culinary college and my dad used to be a chef, been cooking since I could stand and I'm pretty damn good

I enjoy cooking! It's a very nice activity in which you create something. For example. I get a basic idea for a recipe, yet I never follow the exact recipe. For me it's just a start. I build on that and improve the meal. Besides, my girlfriend isn't grade-A cook material so... XD
She does help me cook, but she can only make salads and deserts.

I think im pretty good, so I've been told by friends and family(although they could just be saying that so they dont hurt my feelings lol). I like to experiment a lot and it normally turns out pretty well.

  • I'm actually a pretty good cook...and I enjoy doing it. Making people happy by feeding them is a bigtime rush.

Great idea for a poll. I've been told I make good soups. Mediocre at other cooking aspects. Would love to make curry some time.

Pretty crappy. I make food for myself most days, but I have a very limited repertoire (almost entirely Quorn curries and desserts :P).

I don't have a particularly good relationship with food. Food was never a social part of my life, and I was never brought up with it in a pleasant way. Mealtimes were much more of a stressful challenge than a pleasurable experience. "You must eat this, or mum and dad will shout at you". Despite my best efforts, I've not been able to shake that feeling in my adult life. I'm not able to enjoy any part of food beyond the superficial, because I have very few pleasurable memories associated with food. I have the opposite of what you would call a "passion for food". I have a disinterested apathy for food, and as a result of that I've never been much motivated to cook.
