Where the fuck do they go in winter?

There is a train station near Fordham U. In the Bronx, New York City. There is a small park next to this train station where I see homeless men and women sleeping on the benches, or just outside the station bathroom. If you know the area then you know where I'm talking about. New York has about a thousand homeless shelters but these people prefer to sleep outside with the starving rats I've seen late at night running under the benches where they are sleeping. How can a human being do this? And they are of all races: black, white, Hispanic. You name it. Can this be normal? Can they all be that mentally ill? And winter is coming. Soon. Are they still going to be sleeping there? You know, President Obama was here, in new York City today. Down at the United Nations. Its getting dark as I write this post. Maybe if our President is still around somebody could drive him up to Fordham, in the South Bronx and show him what I see when I get off work at night.

Checked it out on google maps, It actually looks quite nice compared to some places homeless people have to sleep.

I watched a show were a guy found these homeless people and got them accommodation and jobs and surprise surprise they never showed up for work and left the accommodation and went back out onto the streets, some people just can't function in society.
Truth is, the only reason I'm not homeless is because my family supports me, I have a job in a secure Dementia ward, I do it because I find it easier to communicate with people who have advanced Dementia than 'normal' people. The last friend I had was a hooker, we used to sit in a hotel room together laughing and joking and making all these big plans, then her phone would ring and I'd go for a walk or go to the store for supplies while she worked.

I don't know what's wrong with those people in the park in Fordham and I don't know what's wrong with me and neither does Obama, I'm sure if he could help them he would.

    Not normal.

they go to the shelters in the winter. they perfer to live outside during the nicer seasons because they have more freedoms from what i hear the shelters are strict and all the other homeless people suck. i would live outside in the spring and summer then start finding a shelter in the middle of fall

Thousands of shelters that may not be near them, that have reached their nightly limit, that they may be too sick or violent to be in. Maybe some can't walk very well or maybe others are registered sex offenders. You never know.

These are inflatable people the local government uses to keep you out of the parks and public places that you would want maintained, if you used them. In the winter, these inflatable people are deflated and stored in a warehouse until spring, as you won't be using these same places in the winter. You must admit, it is an ingenious way for the city to save millions.

Also, Obama has got so much on his plate. If he took this on, people may think that he is neglecting his other duties. Maybe, someone in his cabinet can take it on?

Where I live, they are more shelter for women and children then men. If if the man is married to a women and they have a child, he isn't allowed to stay with them. Absolute bullshit! He either has to stay on the street or find a homeless shelter for men, but as I have been led into believe, there are many of them. The belief is that men can survive on the streets, because are somehow impervious to being raped, mugged, kidnapped, and killed. This is probably a by-product of feminism. They say equality, but this isn't equality. It is probably more or less the same in NyC. But what you have to understand, is that NYC is crowded. There's a huge population that is living on a somewhat small island. If the homeless population is very big, it could very well be exceeding the size limits in the shelters. Transportation is another issue. The homeless shelters may be out of their reach.
